Who will buy the US release of Pet Shop Boys "Fundamental"? And if you have the import...

...Will you buy an American verison as well. I was considering it if the album appeared in any of the Sunday ads on sale but I guess Rhino is so shitty and has so little faith in having an album that will chart that they've put no effort into promotion for the disc. So I don't know if I want to pay $15 for the basic verison of the album (and who knows how much for the deluxe if they have it). If it appeared in the ads, it would have a slight chance of doing well. However, most American petheads probably got as low a priced copy of "Fundamentalism" (the deluxe verison which has remixes of new tracks and two new songs). Does this album even have a chance of charting in the top 100 like their prior albums did? I'm not thinking so because I could have sworn that at least those albums appeared in the Sunday ads. And back to the question...if you already own it, will you buy another copy just to support them?

Paid to download it from some European site, and to be honest, I really didn't feel it. I won't be buying it on a physical disc unless it grows on me.

I was one of the few people that actually liked a lot of what I heard on Release. In fact, I like it more than any of their 90's albums except Behavior. I was even really excited by 'Miracles' and especially 'Flamboyant' from the PopArt set, but this album just doesn't grab me at all.

Maybe if I see it cheap somewhere, and it has the bonus disc, I'd be tempted. As is, no, I won't be buying it.

A lot of my friends are in the same camp, i recommend finding the 2nd cd and listen to that, Its much more upbeat and dance orientated. While I personally like the new cd alot, it IS a bit ballad heavy.

I agree. I'm a big fan but Fundamental isn't their finest hour.

I will be buying the actual CD today.

When I first heard it, i was a little cool to Fundamental. But I've revised my opinion in a big way. The video for "Minimal" is too cool, and that song has really grown on me. I love "Integral" as well.

I "previewed" it, definitely my least favorite PSB album. Won't be picking up.

I was dissapointed at first, too. But it does grow on you. Did you hear "Fundamentalism". "Fugitive" has a driving hard dance beat and has a better flow than most of the regular tracks. "In Private" is a campy disco duet with Elton John. The remixes don't do much, though.
