The New York Daily News reported Thursday that Detroit rapper and actor Eminem has used his next movie project -- an update of the '50s TV Western "Have Gun --Will Travel" -- to emerge from a bout with depression.

There has been a lot to be depressed about, despite his mega millions: the shooting death of his rap pal Proof and his forthcoming re-divorce to wife Kim Mathers.

Reports the Daily News: "He has been shut up in his house depressed ... He gained a ton of weight and didn't feel like working on anything."

"Obviously, he's grieving," the "8 Mile" star's spokesman Dennis Dennehy said. "He is depressed as anyone would be if they lost someone that close. He had announced he was taking time off before this happened. It's his downtime."

Dennehy also said that his client is conquering his depression without the help of antidepressants.

Wow. My prayers are with him and all others wrestling with depression. It sucks...bad.

Last time I saw him on TV he looked pretty normal to me...I had heard about his weight problems but didn´t see any big difference...pics, anyone ?

I dont think he's depressed anymore. I hear that he's doing alright now, plus he's got a new mixtape coming out pretty soon.

surround yourself with negativity and you're bound to get a nasty case of depression. hopefully he'll use the experience to learn from and grow.

As much as I don't like Eminem, depression sucks. I have been there (and sadly might one day be there again) However, I would never wish depression on him. I hope he somehow finds happiness and overcomes the tough shit he has been going through as of late.

Em needs more than a movie project to better himself. I honestly think the guy's mentally ill and could benefit from some serious therapy.

Yeah, the idea that he isnt getting any professional help bugs me. If he is that depressed, he should get some help.
