Top 10 Kate Bush songs... Forget "one of the greatest female singer/songwriters"... just "one of the greatest singer/songwriters" will do. Here's my top 10: 1. GET OUT OF MY HOUSE 2. NIGHT OF THE SWALLOW 3. SUNSET 4. MOVING 5. THE KICK INSIDE 6. A CORAL ROOM 7. AND DREAM OF SHEEP 8. BREATHING 9. HEADS WE'RE DANCING 10. KING OF THE MOUNTAIN

Can't narrow it down to 10. I DON'T WANT TO BE NORMAL,because normal is part of the status quo, which I don't want to be a part of- Tori Amos

Cannot. Do. This.
Far too difficult! But it'll definitely have 'The Sensual World' in there. I love, love, LOVE that song.

This is too difficult for me to do....but I´d definitely put
-The Fog -Running Up That Hill -Breathing -This Woman´s Work -The Sensual World -Mother Stands For Comfort and of course Cloudbusting in there, though the latter requires a bit of background info in order to fully appreciate its beauty. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Oh God I hate lists because I can never ever pick a definite number #1. I will say that "Heads We're Dancing","Kite", "Infant's Kiss","Rocket's Tail" ,"Under the Ivy","December Will Be Magic Again" (I listened to that one the other day....it's nowhere near December....that's how much I like it.), "Jig of Life", "Waking the Witch", "Experiment IV", "The Fog", the live version of "Don't Push Your Foot on the Heartbreak", "Lily" are somewhere in there. Is that over 10 already? see.....too hard. I even tried picking favorites from different albums to spread it out....still couldn't do it. If your favorite album is Hounds of Love.....it would really be hard to pick a Top 10 KB songs. That albums ties in together, so the bulk of your list would probabaly be from that album How about a Top 10 Kate Bush Albums instead I was shocked to see someone else say "Heads We're Dancing" too. Most fans hate that one for some reason It's starting to storm here looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

As a casual fan, these are my favorites:
Be Kind To My Mistakes Running Up That Hill Delius Blow Away The Sensual World This Woman's Work The Man With The Child In His Eyes And Dream Of Sheep Love and Anger King Of The Mountain ... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

I'll have to think about this one.

Under Ice
Mother Stands For Comfort All The Love Running Up That Hill But I only have 2 of her albums. I'd say Under Ice and Mother Stands For Comfort are probably in my top ten of ANY artist and those two songs epitomize and capture what I strive to do as an artist myself.

Does anyone love "Delius"? I don't see many mention the album Never For Ever.

"Army Dreamers" and "Breathing" kick my ass too. Since you're the Kate expert around here, what do you think of that album? Do you know its standing among Kate's fans?

Love those two as well, and Babooshka. It's not one of her most popular albums, rarely do people include it in their 'Top 3 Kate albums', yet it's not often singled out for a bashing, either. Most fans seem to consider it a good album but not one of her best. What do I think of it? I think it's a good album but not one of her best.

Well, so far I've managed a top 3:
Cloudbusting The Sensual World A Coral Room Now I've gotta choose the rest from a shortlist of 60.

It took a while to really have an effect on me (thought it was boring as shit at first ) but its sheer beauty won me over in the end. It's easily my favourite album opener of hers and possibly the sexiest song ever written. She'll probably release a new album before you sort that Top 10 out.
And how likely is that? | |

I'm glad you like it now. :phew: Call me crazy but how anyone cannot like a song that has Kate softly murmuring 'Mmmmmm, yes...' in their ear, I have no idea. Best album opener? Defintely. And how likely is that?
We should put bets on it.

We should put bets on it. I'll bet my Tori Amos albums on it.
