tA...a Hammer fan? eek I'm shocked.

Hammer became a joke, but his first album was great fun. I haven't seen the Turn This Mutha Out video since it first aired.

My beat is ever boomin'
And you know I get it started...

Man, I told y'all about that curmudgeon stuff. disbelief

I like the early stuff because he shook up Rap's stage presentation.
Which was basically just cats roaming around the stage.
He couldn't rap his way out of a paper bag but he added an element of entertainment and visual excitement.

As was so eloquently stated by Humpty...

Stop what you're doin'
Cause i'm about to ruin
The image and the style that you're used to

... cool

Plus he initially showcased "around the way" type sisters in Oaktown 357. thumbs up!

"pump it up" is a hilarious video. His dancing is pretty wack aswell. A far cry from his dancing in say "this is the way we roll". Too big mc is on this track too, who is unintentionally funny

"turn this mutha out" has a killer video. Me and my mate still say the intro...

"hammer, u ain;t hittin' in Norwich (my town)...so what chu' gonna do about that, hammer....."

I still say some hiphop fans would like the album "too legit to quit". "please hammer dont hurt 'em" is by far his worst album. I barely ever play it. But thats the album he is remembered for.

people can talk about Hammer all they want to, but back then, when he was hot, i mean he was ON FIRE!! His videos always captured my attention with the dancing and flashy clothes. He was like a rapper/entertainer type....
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Thanks Aud! Man, you took me back down memory lane w/ those clips. Hammer's low budget videos were so hip (then). With the beats and his dancing, it almost made you forget how bad of a rapper he was. When those vids came out, everyone ws like "Who in the hell is this?"..Oaktown 357 was workin' that spandex. They had a couple of vids too.

I knew a lot of the choreography for Juicy. In my head when I hear the "Cold goin' mad...cold goin' mad" I still give the moving "Stop in the name of love" hand. redface And my favorite line:

Ladies don't you worry
If you man gets out of line
Just ration out the juice
Till it's get paid time

Their corniness was part of their charm. Who can forget this classic:

"Yeah yeah yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, AW-YEAH!" Is that priceless or what?
