todays drug psa from the arab world... from www.crunktastical.blogspot.com
Legendary producer Dallas Austin is in a Dubai prison, where he stands accused of transporting drugs into the Arab country en route to Naomi Campbell's birthday party last month. Austin has worked with Madonna, Michael Jackson, Brandy, TLC, Aretha Franklin, the Indigo Girls and Boyz II Men. Dubai, which is a member state of the United Arab Emirates, has strict drug policies and a reputation for a stern justice system. Campbell's birthday party was a three-day extravaganza at the Burj Al Arab hotel, which drew fellow models like Eva Herzigova and Linda Evangelista. Campbell's boyfriend, Dubai oil heir Badr Jafar, rented out a large section of the ultra-expensive hotel. Each day had a theme: "All White," "Hip Hop" and "Brazilian Samba." It's not likely the supermodel has tried to bring her friend a cake with a file in it or has even bothered to visit. "Naomi doesn't know anything about this," her flack told us. A rep for Austin had no comment. (source) I've always thought that Dallas was on some other shit but I didn't know it was like that. So I guess its safe to assume what the folks at the party was doing on the "All White" day. Somebody should've made Cherrelle and Nippy '06 watch 'Blow.' << not my comments Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

Yeah, they´re pretty strict. In 1996, 14 Turkish truck drivers got beheaded in Saudi Arabia for using captagon in order to stay awake while driving. Not even the Turkish president could help them. Maybe MJ might be able to help Dallas.
God help him. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

WHAT the F**K was this boy thinking?????
EVERYbody knows that Middle Eastern Muslim, and most Southeast Asian countries have ZERO tolerance for drugs! They make Hollywood blockebuster movies and tv movies of the week about this EVERY OTHER YEAR!! Oh my Gawd, that was STUPID. His ass is in some serious hot water now. But unlike the average jail bust where a person can kind of laugh it off and say 'oh well, he got what he desreved', in this case I can't even play like that: Dallas was wrong for what he did, but I don't think he should have a hand chopped off or should have to DIE, for it. And in these zero tolerance countries that might really be what he's facing as punishment for his crime. ...good grief, is he fucked ...

i think everyone should visit the U.S Embassy's website before leaving the country. they make it very clear that you should not do ANYTHING illegal in another country because there is nothing they can do to help you. just think, an american caught up in a muslim country. i will say that this may be a rare case of being black actually working to a person's advantage. Damn man.

You're right about the push to obey foreign law while overseas, but honey, I've been to muslim countries for work and play ( beach vacation/ shopping/fashion related), and they don't care about me being American...they want my money/ the money of the magazines I work for. However, it's always understood that you can't be involved with drugs when you go there. So it's just something I or anyone on the teams that work with me haven't ever remotely considered toying around with. Also, because of their religious beliefs/policies on alcohol, you can only purchase it in your hotel or while dining in a restaurant...big whoo...get drunk at dinner or in your hotel room...it's so darned hot there anyway, the last thing you need is to be walking around in that mid-east/african sun with a hangover---you're just begging for sunstroke ...however, in all seriousness, we might want to pray for the Dallas. Rules are rules. You're right in that we can't just expect to go over to other people's turf and expect them to bend their rules for us...I understand the (very forward thinking!) point of checking with our embassies to find out about rules, but I dunno, there is such a stubborn part of me that insists he should have known better...you just can't roll up into other people's cribs trying to do what you might be able to get away with at home. For me, fundamentally, it begins THERE. But you are right, when you leave the shores of the US, you have to learn as the saying goes,"while in Rome, do as the Romans do"...it's really is a sad story, though... unless he can break prision and reach reach the US Embassy (which qualifies as American soil) a la the movie RED CORNER, he doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell
