The rappers problem stem from be-ing tone deaf I was walking home from getting a coffee and some guy was blaring this idiot rap song in his car. The main lyric went like this: "We Be In The Club." I blurted out, "you should be gettin your ass into a library." I laughed my ass off, spilled coffee on my self, then realized that the same rapper on the song is probably making more money then me. I then kneeled and cried like a wee baby. waaaaah. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Indeed. And what does tone deaf have to do with choice of words? I urge you to look at the grammar in your own subject line again before you send somebody off to the liberry.

I'm African-American too and I just feel that it's a combination of the music industry making money and the absence of very few who are truly talented. There are great rappers just as there are great people in other areas . It's the content of the music and the way that it is presented to the public.

Very true and that is usually the case that the meaningful rappers never get as much air time as the one's who perpetuate many of the terrible stereotypes that are associated with people of color. Very sad.

I feel that in it's present form, It contributes to the continued stagnation of our people some white people hate it, because it gives blacks to make money and move up in life in positive lifestyles. And i wish some people on the org, would understand why hip hop was created before they say there stupid well there is no instrument players, in rap music, and the same ole everybody can do it, bullshit [Edited 6/23/06 5:15am]

I'm black, and I hate rap... I feel that in it's present form, It contributes to the continued stagnation of our people No..We contribute to the continued stagnation of our people. The music that you listen to does not. In this world you have choices and it is up to YOU, not the music, to make the right choice. If a 4 minute rap song can change what I have taught my 4 year daughter in her 4 years on this earth, then I am the one to blame, not the music..... Believe it or not, there are a lot of black people who hate rap too. Do they hate it for "racist" reasons or do they hate it because they think rap promotes a negative image for all blacks? Do people who hate rap, hate all rap or just certain kinds of rap? Certainly, the Sugar Hill Gang, Ice-T, NWA, Will Smith, and Eminem are all different styles of rap music. Just asking the questions... It might be more of a generational thing than a color thing. That being said, anyone catch the old white tourists standing in the aisles, clapping to the beat, when Busta Rhymes rocked the Conan O'Brien show? Some people tell me I've got great legs...

Look,
-All hip hop is not bad -if you don't like it, don't listen to it...its that simple. -but don't try to make whole threads about how ignorant rap is because not all black folks, not all white folks, not all asian folks, not all latino folks, not all indian folks, not all african folks, and not all austrailian folks dislike hip hop so the next time you are either outside or driving with the windows down and you hear some ignorant hip hop that you just can't stand, u can do either one of the two things: 1) turn up the volume in your car or 2) ignore it now back to our regularly scheduled programming..... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

krazykid18 said: i start to feel, that people who don't like rap have a racist reason behind it, and this thread is making me see my point Yeah, right! With a music collection in a book shelf from floor to ceiling that is 90% black and enough black sexual partners to start of episode of "Soul Train", hating rap makes me real racist. It ain't racism, it's called having good taste, being used to much better, and never lowering your standards regardless if the rest of the world has. Andy is a four letter word.
