JADE - 90's gals

Aw , i luvved these ladies . This was the pre-Destiny's Child era .

They did a great live album too with an tight band , doing a classic Emotions-medley .

Too bad the disappeared so soon , as did Willie Max , SWV , Mokenstef , Brownstone , Blackgirl , etc .....

Jade was one of my favorite female groups in the '90's.

They could sing, were cute and had a street edge.

I loved their chunky braids. giggle

I loved them!!!! "Mr. Do Right", "One Woman Man", the remake of "Blessed", "I Wanna Love You", "Out With the Girls Tonight", "It's On"...yeah those were my faves. They harmonized better than Destiny's Child and they didn't oversing.
Thank You San Alejo for getting rid of my enemies. :-0

Vocally, I think Jade was at EnVogue's level. SWV, MokenStef and all the others weren't.

The one that sang lead on Don't Walk Away sings back up for Usher (or at least she did at his concert that aired on cable). I saw a portion of his concert and he introduced the background singers and there she was. They could really sing, I wonder what happened to them.
Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight
Just let me rock you 'til the morning liiiiiiight
It's cold outside
And much too late to driiiiiiiive
You know I need you baby
I'm so lost without your love

My favorites were "Looking For Mr. Do Right" and "Every Day Of The Week".
Their live version of "Don't Ask My Neighbors" is fantastic.

They weren't as good as En Vogue, but I liked them a lot. The singles were great. "Don't Walk Away" is definitely a classic, but my favorite is "One Woman." Unlike SWV, they were great in concert as well as on wax.

" After extensive touring around the globe , "Mimi" left the group after what was released in the media in an interview with BET Video Soul host Donny Simpson as a medical problem of bronchitis , but was later revealed to be because of internal strife with the other 2 members of the group . She was replaced by Kina Cosper , but the group never recovered from losing such a key member , and their subsequent albums were considered commerical failures ."
