He's great! I haven't had the chance to see his stand-up comedy shows,but I have his book "Freak",which is hilarious.He's a wonderful actor too.Did y'all see him in "Carlito's Way","To Wong Foo" and "Summer Of Sam"? He was brilliant!! | |

When "Mambo Mouth" came out, I became a fan. He's a VERY talented actor/comedian who just needs that one great part to become a true Hollywood heavyweight. IrishEcho - you need to step back and think a little before you make a comment like that. John L was annoying in movies like Spawn, Mario Bros., The Pest, and Moulin Rouge because that was how his characters were SUPPOSED to have been portrayed! How's about his performance as a deviant artist in Whispers In The Dark or as a commando in Executive Decision or as a guido in Summer of Sam? He was on the money and his acting is exemplary!!! And as a transvestite in To Wong Foo he completely stole the movie away from Patrick Swayze and Wesley Snipes!!! And what's this about him looking like a troll? Just because he doesn't give you a woody??? He's a typical Hispanic - not the kind that Hollywood puts up on pedestals - but the everyday kind that you find on the streets, and I am proud of his success. If he looked like Brad Pitt - would that make him a better actor in your eyes Irish? What do YOU look for in an actor? Green eyes? Wide shoulders? Tight abs and butt? How's about a little something called t-a-l-e-n-t ??? John doesn't have the "aryan" attributes of Matt Damon or Ben Affleck, but he could out-perform those bozos with his eyes closed. ¡Que Víva la sangre Latina! I remember seeing John in Todd Hayne's Poison where he plays a gay prisoner (in a film comprised of three different stories)...damn did i fall head over heels over him...
but, he has sorta grown unattractive as he has gotten older...no knock on my beautiful latin brothers...but, the guy just sorta looks different now...but, in that movie...DAMN!!! cute cute cute... | |
