The 5th Dimension - The Magic Garden

I'm at work, taking this album in for the first time, and it's a beautiful one! My mom and dad were big fans of the 5th Dimension when I was younger. I wish I was at home to fully experience what it has to offer, but I really like what I'm hearing. My favorites so far: Dreams/Pax/Nepenthe, Carpet Man, Requiem: 820 Latham (this is my favorite on the album). Of course, the harmonies are impressive, but the whole album is lovingly orchestrated with warm string arrangements. It's beautiful pop music. I want more.

You remembered my Meathead comment! lol

I'm familiar with all of 5th Dimension's hits but hadn't listened to a proper album. I was listening to this album through Yahoo's subscription music service (awesome, by the way, just $7/month). For some reason or another, they have some albums that are out of print. I came to discover that this is the case with this album; finding it on CD will run about $60.

Those 3 groups are part of a melodic Outer Limits (in a good way) in a 60s to 70s musical transition.
