With any change it will have to come from the people and an alternative. Right now there is no alternative, sure u can search music, but the younger generation has no attention span, its the soundbyte generation, its gotta be simple and served to them. Just the fact that this generation would protest "not being able to have their cell phones in classrooms" but not protest the war in iraq, pretty much sums them up. The change will come but not until the sysytem totally breaks down, and that means MTV, BET,Labels, flava of the day, the bling all that shit has got to go, sorry but it does thats the only way its gonna change.
[Edited 6/19/06 19:34pm] And, the White House press corps -- which agreed to participate in a false/staged press conference coinciding with the Bush decision to invade Iraq -- is made up of how many younger-generation folks exactly? What about the Congresspeople who voted for the war resolution? People consider the hyperbole before you post. Stupidity and youth aren't interchangeable. Again, I say, there are numerous black movements -- particularly in major cities such as Philly and Atlanta -- where you find black musicians who are young and talented. I worry more about a perpetuation of a myth -- than I am in the horrors you all describe. The generalizations must end.

Soul Train still comes on? Wow, I guess since I don't have cable anymore I just kinda forgot about it. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!
