Justin Timberlake Looks To The 'Future'

Justin Timberlake has penciled in a Sept. 12 North American release date for his second solo album, "FutureSex/LoveSounds." The Jive set will be preceded by the single "SexyBack," which will be delivered July 7 to U.S. radio outlets. The track was co-written and co-produced by Timberlake with Timbaland and Nate Hills.

As for the new album, additional production was supplied by Rick Rubin and JAWBreakers, Timberlake's behind-the-boards duo with the Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am.

will.i.am was at a loss to describe the project's musical direction when asked in January by Billboard.com. "I can't explain it, that's how dope it is," he said with a laugh. "He just surprised me again. I was surprised that I was even going to like Justin Timberlake. Then he turned me into a fan, and I've become a fan. That means you are so talented that you are changing people's vocabulary."

"FutureSex/LoveSounds" is the follow-up to 2002's "Justified," which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and has sold more than 3.5 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.


Timberlake is planning a U.S. club tour in August to unveil the new material.

Ok heres the prediction about the CD, that will i am says is so Dope. Slick producers brought in , Timbaland (i guess he's in now), and others, the first video will be directed by one of these guys, Hype, Paul Hunter or Brett Ratner. My guess is there will be a Ballad on this Cd , probably something sim to Cry me a River part 2, probably a "rock" song, my guess is someone like Chris Martin will be on this Cd, and basically this CD will be one to join all genres, the Coldplay heads, the RB heads and then the ladies that still dig Justin and ballads from the NSYNC days. My prediction is probably half the sales mainly because his "sales" days are over, lets see if he can handle it, So then about 2 years from now when he is working on his third cd he will say "Well U know, that last CD wasnt all me, this new CD is more of me", i love when people who call themselves artists, put down there own work because of slumping sales, a true artist would say to qoute Michael Stipe "My latest CD is my best because I made it"

Oh, and about the SUperbowl thing. There was a quick interview with him directly after it happened when he wasn't aware of the backlash that was to come, and he said "just giving the people what they want", in some cocky way. He certainly didn't sound surprised or let on that there was any slip-up.

I'm not ashamed of being a fan of Justin either, his album was one of the better R & B album's out at that time. Seen him live and he put on a great show too, so I respect the fact that he's trying to make good music and LOVES what he does. Could be worse, he could spend his time on some community site TALKING about music and not making it.
