that said, once again, PETA fucks it all up. what would i have done? i would have had an intelligent conversation with beyonce and her family about my concerns, and i would have politely let her know that i spent $XXX to win this auction for the purpose of having this conversation. no cameras. no "ambush". no publicity stunt. when PETA pulls these stunts, they polarize people. that's not what's going to improve animal welfare (notice i said WELFARE, not RIGHTS). when PETA gets it through their thick, extremist, ridiculous skulls that advocating for people to do just a LITTLE to live a cruelty-free life leads to a lot more improvement than DEMANDING that everyone live 1,000% by their standards, THEN maybe they'll make a difference. i say screw PETA. and i'm an 18-year vegetarian. Elegantly eloquent Mr. Anx.

I gave up pork, beef, lamb after I drove by a slaughterhouse one night and smelled a horrible smell, and, on another day, I had this intense realization that the personalities, behaviors, and emotions of most mammals seem very human like (good and bad!), so I had to draw a line for myself. I find the idea of cannibalism horrifying, and then I anthropomorphize animals... so... Plus, one year, I went crazy with grilling steaks, and my cholesterol went up in direct correlation! Im not so mad at PETA doing this. At least they didnt splash her with anything. They were talking quietly and under controlled. I agree sometimes they can be brash but I respect their mission. What was up with Beyonce clamming up like that? I never hear or see her speaking up for herself, she always turns into this shell of defensiveness. Thats sad. I can imagine why. It's not really about her age - maybe she's a really gentle person on the inside & doesn't really know what to do when she feels like she's being attacked.
