In fact, it was HIS deamonor,contradictory statements on the timeline, the fact that he was mad at Michael for NOT wanting to be around him, the fact that he begged Chris Tucker to tell him where Michael was; his denial of anything happening to him UNTIL he met with the SAME lawyer as the 1993 accuser,the fact that he only became angry when Michael stopped helping the family and many other inconsistencies, that convinced this very intuitive and intelligent jury that this case was a bunch of horse crap.These are all things that are in the actual COURT TRANSCRIPTS for anyone(non-fans,media, skeptics et.al) to read.
