My main reason to throw some hoops for a few years were the Harlem Globetrotters and "Dr"Julius Erving  ( the "Michael Jordan" of the 70's & early 80's . This brother had incredible air-acces too / Kurtis Blow & Grover Washington, Jr. even payed a tribute to him ).

Yes,it is a depressing film (it was considered an "urban tragedy"),but John Travolta is excellent in it.He really should have won an Oscar for his performance.It's a riveting film. as for Tony's friend that jumps off the bridge.....wasn't he really a homosexual? They never mention this in the movie,but that's what it seems like to me.It almost seems as if he had a "crush" on Tony.He was going through alot of drama,that's for sure. | |

Yeah, oddly enough, I did. I saw it when it first came out with some little girls I went to grade school with. I've seen it a few times since. The impact is gone for me with this flick ever since I got older. Never really dug the 50's vibe. Shit like "Happy Days" and "Sha Na Na" I detested when I was little. And Grease is on that vibe. After seeing "Xanadu," "Can't Stop The Music" and the Sgt. Pepper's movie up here, why does "Glitter" suddenly look like a Martin Scorscese-directed film in comaprison?
