I love how you rip on her even though she's like your 2nd or 3rd favorite female musician. She was for a while. She's slipped, tho'. I ain't been moved since Choirgirl. I did hear that she's bringing the "warrior-Tori" back, that's a step in the right direction. And seriously, man. I know it must irk you to see folk dissing Tori as a Kate-wannabe, but had you known Kate first, you would completely understand it. Anyhoo, I rip on Prince a lot, too. And he remains in my top 3 fave males, sat comfortably behind and Mike & Stevie. I just want P & T to blow my mind again, is all.

No, I almost went to see her when she came to my city (once her home) last year. Alas, no fucker wanted to go with me. I'll never forgive myself for not saying hello when I passed her outside a music store.

I think you would've loved it - just Tori and her piano. The 5 times I saw her on that tour were stunning. She had to have like 200 songs rehearsed. If you can, check out some of the officially released shows. Amazingly good stuff. Plus she did a few Kate covers. I'll never forgive myself for not saying hello when I passed her outside a music store.

Cool, I'll have a look around. I'll never forgive myself for not saying hello when I passed her outside a music store.

I'd convinced myself that it wasn't her. It was around the time of LE, maybe the summer of '92, I was just walking along when I spotted her and thought "Fuck off, idiot. What the hell is Tori Amos gonna be doing in Notts?!" Found out just one day later when she was interviewed by Steve Wright on Radio 1 that she did indeed live in my city!!! Of course, I never saw her again. Gutted.

tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 Oh, I unreservedly like those records a lot. I really need to be a little more careful with my language, cuz I don't dislike all female performers. I love the Bacharach/David recordings; I love Phil Spector's girl groups, things like that. It's more in the area of modern rock and pop that I seem to have an issue, I guess.

She did like 4 or 5 Joni covers on that tour as well. I remember "River", "A Case Of You", "The Circle Game" and "Both Sides Now" for sure.
