I love all these kind of "instructional songs" that were part of R&B (and Pop!) music back in the day! I was just listening to this, Bobby Womack's "A Woman's Gotta Have It", and Dionne Warwick's "Wives And Lovers" yesterday...and was cracking up; it used to be that songs came with actual instructions for how to keep the one you love RIGHT by your side lol lol lol ....now everybody's too busy running around listening to songs like "SMACK MY BITCH UP" lol lol lol

Ray specialized in these types of "instruction" songs....

"Jack and Jill" (1978)
"More Than One Way To Love A Woman" (1979)
"Bad Boy" (1983)
(his "take me back,I was a fool" song, lol)

That whole album is good. Especially "Still In The Groove" and "It's Your Night".

"Billy Dee Jr"..That what we used to call him back then. Ray was rocking the skinny ties and shag-fro back then. Saw him on TV not too long ago..He married the blonde in the "Ghostbusters" video and they had some kids. He makes big $ in real estate now.

What it is, Brotha man?! U know, I could always tell that Ray had something going on with that blonde, just from the chemistry they had. It was clear as day.

Til I heard this song, I never knew that a woman needed love like I did.

And that you can't change that.

I heard some new cuts of his on his myspace page. He has a new album coming out. The music is great - Ray Parker's guitar playing is on point and he even has a spanish-flavored cut on there. The lyrics, though...

"You Can't Change That" and "Mr. Telephone Man" are probably my two favorite Ray Parker Jr. songs. And of course, I dug all the funky Raydio instrumentals from back in the day cool

Hi SPYFAN1,

That's the way to do it. Real Estate and Musical Copyrights.

Ray is a tasteful player and a smart man. "Old Pro" was one of those "instructional songs" back in the day.

What's up Carl? Yes you are right. That is the way to go! Cool to see ray having fun playing. The song "Mid Life Crisis" is kinda funny.

The "remake", his own "she needs to get some", is alot better then this. "a woman needs love" sounds like it should be used in early 80's porno.

Unfortunately, i cant find a vid for "she needs to get some", but the link above is a fun song. Sorta like New edition but with ray singing
