Just read an article that Jay Z and all his 40/40 clubs are boycotting "Cristal" champagne, due to statements made by the president of that company because someone remarked about "cristal" being used in Hip Hop videos, and the president looked at it as a bad image to center on, something like that u get the point. Now of course Jay z is calling it racist and urging all of hip hop to boycott this product and he has pulled cristal from all 40/40 clubs.

Now my biggest problem with this is, not so much "that maybe its racial" but that this is the stand that Jay Z is taking, with all the shit going on in the world, from Iraq to Katrina, to poverty to unemployment, to ignorance in your own industry, this is deemed an important stand. Jay Z i thought was somewhat intelligent, head of a company but he has turned into just what he preached against when he started out.

Rappers give products free advertisement all the time. I think Jay-Z is saying that you've made much money off of hip hop, why are you dissin' it now.

I get it but who cares.

Well at first when I heard that he was boycotting "Cristal" I thought, well its about time that you get smart about advertising these materialistic things for free.

But the way you put it, compared to all the things going on in this country and in the world, this is nothing but small potatoes in comparison.
