i can't wait to hear this. let's hope it reaches back to the
music on Siamese Dream/Mellon Collie/Adore and doesn't have
too much to do with the whole Machina atmosphere since those
songs lack a lot of punch imo and are sub-standard to any of
the other pumpkins albums.

Any word on whether D'arcy will be involved?

I love Billy but I hope he gets back to writing good songs again...I didn't like his solo record one little bit.

I miss the Pumpkins, I just put "Drown" on a mix CD I was putting together and it brought back a ton of memories. I loved their sound around the time of Gish, kinda hippyish and carefree then it would just burst into heavy rock.

I wasn't digging it either. Sonically it resembled Adore (which I LOVE), but the songs were just blahh. His Zwan project sounded like he was trying too hard to pretend like he was happy after the Pumpkins broke up.

I like Melissa, but she's not a good fit for the Smashing Pumpkins. I liked her better w/ Courtney.

did anyone get the James Iha solo record? It was supposed to be like light California country rock. I loved his stuff with the Pumpkins but this record just didn't have any soul or guts. Pretty blah

I do hope he gives it another go sometime

If that's the case, than he (Billy, of course) has a lot of nerve calling it Smashing Pumpkins since his failed solo album and failed "Zwan" included Jimmy Chamberlin (which is strange, since he was replaced on "Adore", and that album was great...but I guess he puts up with Billy's shit gladly).
