Even so, despite that, a few radio hits, and multiple award nominations/wins, have any of those three artists ever reached the level of superstardom that Lauryn once did? I'm talkin' 'bout R&B that's UBER-mainstream, and they aren't, as far as I'm aware (although this doesn't detract at all from the quality of their work, mind you | |

They did not have as much pressure placed on them as compared to Lauren....She was the one that had come from a group and when one goes "solo" there is a tremendous amount of pressure to succeed. Also, when someone attains "superstardom" as fast as she did, u are bound to crash and burn. As much as I liked the her cd, it really did not excite me as much as the one's by Jill,Erica, and Deangelo did. Those I can play without hesitation, especially Jill's. Lauren's CD has a tendency to sound dated. Even when it came out, I thought to myself, this kind of thing has been done all ready.
