Beyonce, Janet, Jessica Simpson & Christina Aguilera September is going to be a bitch fight late August/September is Diva month, major records from diva's are going to be Beyonce (05/09), Janet (26/09) Jessica Simpson (29/08) & Christina Aguilera (29/08)
There are a heap of releases from males and bands also, too many to mention. but which diva do you think will be cleaning up at the billboard awards? Jessica Simpson's new record is actually ok, better than her last 3. She's worked with Jimmy Jam and TL also, her first single PUBLIC AFFAIR is meant to be really good. She's also doing a few country tracks , but you know how those americans love their country music, she score her extra sales. Christina Aguilera, looked like falling off due to that awfull first single, but has last minute made her album a double CD, which will double her sales on paper at least. she will probably certified multi platinum just because she's releasing a double cd like Outkast who were certified diamond on only 5 million sales, but I doubt she will get anywhere near that anyway. Janet and Beyonce will be fighting for the same audience so that should be interesting. De ja vu is actually quiet good, much better than "check on it" great beat, a hit for sure. lets see what Janet's got monday!!! . [Edited 6/14/06 5:21am]

Xtina is releasing a double CD? Will the 2nd disc be any different than the first?
Jessica has a huge following. Unfortunately. Beyonce's already shown her card. Wonder what Janet's holding. Been gone for a minute, now I'm back with the jump off

Christina A- She's going to sell, but some critics are going to get in that ass.A double album can take what would've been a good album, and turns it into something long and boring. And, she's not doing anything that we haven't seen before
Beyonce-She's going to sell. Period point blank Janet-Damn,if radio doesn't play her shit it's going to be DOA Jessica Sampson-She'll do average or bomb flat out. The real fight will be between Bouncy and Christina.Christina's a better singer but Beyonce always steals her shine.

My answer is "No", but that doesn't make it fair, either. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

I don't know what it tells about the world when the Jessica Simpson record is the only one of the bunch that I could be even remotely interested in hearing a single from.

Luv Janet ...she may do very well if she brings something NEW along with the commeration of Control, needs more Dance music and less sexy whispering this time...to re-establish her place at the top.
But, truthfully I feel Beyonce may come out on top...Only Christina can touch Bee's vocal range.

I think this is the end of Beyonce's free ride in the industry. Her midas touch is OVER with this record - not just because it's exactly the same as the last 10 songs she's released, not just because she cut this album in two weeks just so she could have a record out this year, but because bitch is overexposed and tired as hell. She is reaching Jennifer Lopez proportions - just prior to "Get Right" and the whole Rebirth catastrophe. [Edited 6/14/06 15:32pm]

I'm barely paying attention to release dates. Janet's album comes out in September, and the single is released to radio on Monday? That release seems kinda far out...three months away from the first single.

All For You was released in February, the album in late April. Nothing new there.

[Edited 6/14/06 15:32pm] I don't see that happening. I think she is going to do big numbers with her new album. The all female touring band is a excellent move. It will make her stand out even more from the crowd. I am not a fan of Beyonce, but it's obvious that she has the perfect mix of good looks, nice body, talent, sex appeal and a likeable personality....and her handlers know how to market that to the fullest.

Apparently it was supposed to be out in Nov and then she switched....well, everything (including the fact that she was married). I'm not sure that Janet and Beyonce are really fighting for the same audience as much as Jessica and Christina are. Janet is old school and has older fans (not much older) and has pop chops. I think she has a wider audience but will they buy her new CD? Not sure.

"Hung Up" Ok on radio but blew up on the digital singles chart and that's what helped the CD and single (although, I kind of thought Madonna's album sales would be a lot higher in America....kind of dissapointing she didn't do much of a promotional push...her tour doesn't count since that is just preaching to the converted).

The digital market usually fucks up any chance for huge downloads from a second or third or fourth single way on down the line. First singles do incredibly well on digital sales because the album isn't available yet. Then the album hits iTunes and peeps buy whatever tracks they like. By the time another single is released, everyone's already got it.

[Edited 6/14/06 15:32pm] The fact that the album was getting articles written about it just based on the title is proof the media is still in love with her and her safe image. I don't think that will change until maybe her next solo album.

I think Beyonce and her people are afraid that if she is out of the spot light for any length of time she could be replaced by the next "it" girl.

I have little doubt that Janet's second single will be out before the album is released on line (they could do the Shakira thing, too, which would suck for fans....). Considering that massive gap, the first single better be good.
