Madonna's "Get Together" remixes---what do you think?

Just bought the new Madonna maxi-single "Get Together".The remixes are okay, but nothing special.I guess,in many ways, the album version is so good that there's no way to really "improve" it.These remixes are predictable, just like the "Hung Up" remixes. So far,the most impressive remixes from this album/era are the "Sorry" remixes which are superb. What do you guys think?

In other "Get Together" news...apparently,a video for this song has been completed."It is nothing like Madonna has ever done before",Madonna's management says."And it is fantastic".It's supposed to premiere next week hmmm

Madonna should let someone like JuniorSenior or Jamiroquai remix her singles. Those guys have a cool,retro-disco/funk sound and since 'Confessions' is largely a retro-sounding album, those guys could have really given these songs new life.I'm tired of cold, repetitive, techno remixes that go on forever!

The Pet Shops Boys remix of "Sorry" is excellent.Madonna uses part of this remix on her tour. She has said that she likes it even better than the album version.

I agree. I remember they made up rumors that BasementJaxx remixed Hung Up and i nearly peed myself. That's the kind of remixes i want to hear. Who the hell recruits these djs?

You know, i'd love to hear extended mixes of the original versions. That would be great.

But right now, i want the bloody video. Hurry the hell up Madonna....

That's why i prefer the edits. I can't stand these standard club mixes anymore.

She needs to STOP turning down mixes by Rauhofer and Jonathan Peters and START turning down mixes by Stuart Price. He has remixed almost everything for this project, and they have ALL been shitty. There was such potential in these tracks for remixing, would it kill her for some more variety among remixers?

Someone on the DJ Rico boards said this, and I agree with them:

"The JLC Mix goes along with those Power Of Goodbye mixes as well as his mix of Sorry - the worst Madonna mixes ever.

I can imagine the remix package for Jump

(Stuart's Let's Sit Down And Play The Guitar Mix)
(Jacques Lu Cont's Anti American Mix)
(Paper Faces I'm ***** Madonna so I Do The Mixes Mix)

I just think the mixes for Confessions have been bullsh*t, return to dance and no dance mixes....yes there is variety for some but for others this is the second single without a playable mix.... "

I know what you mean. These remixes are over-long and quickly become tedious. This may sound crazy, but I actually like Missy's remix of "American Life".It was short and sweet, and it was a nice departure from all the techno-styled remixes that Madonna releases these days.I wouldn't mind another remix from Missy.Imagine what she could do with a song like "Jump" or "Push".

I just saw a new ad for The Devil Wears Prada movie which is coming out, featuring Jump. Now, why the H didn't she pusgh THAT as the new single since it's gonna be all over the TV for a bit? I like Get Together but if Sorry didn't scor, GT doesn't have a chance. Silly promotional decisions...

if it were up to me,these would have been the singles from COADF in this order:

"Hung Up"
"Jump"
"Push"
"Get Together"

Alot of fans aren't crazy about "Push",but that's exactly why it should be a single. It's a very commercial,radio-friendly track that would appeal to people outside her fanbase.

You seeing the show?

Jump was originally slated as the 3rd single, but then the deal with Devil Wears Prada came up and GT was used to fill the gap.

Jump will be the 4th single.

this is confusing lol

My theory is that "Get Together" was chosen as the third single because of its' "fan favorite" status.Go to any Madonna messageboard and take a poll, this is the song that always comes out on top.I think the Warner execs must have realized this and thought it would be good promotion for the tour.

As for "Jump"....some remixes are definitely being made, and there is now talk that it will be an official single (late summer).

I know....but it's okay

pre-drowned world I assumed I'd NEVER see her. And now I've seen her twice. That'll have to suffice for now.

Supposedly,HBO is.They've been spotted hanging around some of the recent shows.I think they're gonna televise one of the New York shows.

But then I heard another rumor that NBC is interested and that they're willing to shell out a whopping $15 million (!) to air the show. The only thing is,I can't imagine her show being shown on network TV without heavy editing, lol.

I liked it too. Anytime a remix can stand as its own version of the song rather than just a club dub is preferable to me.

There were rumors that because they work so quickly together, they were gonna rattle off a trilogy of albums in a year.
