I was just listening to this ol' school hip-hop jam, and I really like the jazzy melody of this rap. I remember that this came out at the same time as The Pharcyde and Digable Planets, and they were all doing this same type of music. These cats were sort of a west coast version of A Tribe Called Quest. Unfortunately, this was also the time that the whole Death Row gangsta rap scene blew up and pushed this type of hip hop aside. Anyway, it gives me some good memories.

I liked the groove. Songs like this one, passin me by,"who got the props", and "lookin out the front door" all had this jazzy vibe to them. These artist along with Digable Planets, put a new face to hip-hop.
