I was gonna try to tackle 'Ziggy' tonight, but I may just play this record again and leave 'Ziggy' and 'Aladdin' for tomorrow. Maybe, but I can do design work and pay attention to the music I'm listening to. My brain sort of splits that way when I'm doing design stuff. Anything that involves reading however, requires my total concentration so I don't listen to music when I read.

So after listening to Hunky Dory again, I realize my first impression wasn't a fluke. All the melodies are very, very strong. My fave that I had never heard before is "Queen Bitch". The only part that leaves me scratching my head is the end of "The Bewlay Brothers". Don't exactly know what's going on there.

"Hunky Dory" is a huge leap forward from what he had been doing earlier. The songs are fun, concise and interesting without being over-indulgent. When you hear stuff like "Cygnet Committee" and "Width of a Circle", you'll know what I mean.

You're having a total proto-punk/glam party! Do you have Lou Reed's "Transformer"?
