i noticed some very simple keyboards lines on that album ,

FunkyBrotha

He has always played keys and percussion on his albums, even as far back as Off the Wall, just listen to his demo's.

He started playing guitar on the History album and Blood on the Dancefloor. He plays practically everything on the song "Morphine".

Hmmm, until this thread I never even bothered to think about which songs MJ could've played on. The credits for each song are listed specifically, but MJ's credit is always general.

And FunkyBrotha, which SONG SPECIFICALLY did MJ play keys on in his early albums? And don't name those tired demos because they are just that....DEMOS!!

You have to name the demos
because other than that Quincy was the main producer

I believe Mike is on keys as far back as "Blues Away" from The Jacksons(1976).

MICHAEL JACKSON: Always and Forever

than you'd have to go back to some Jacksons Songs
cause in his early solo career it was mostly quincy, if MJ did stuff he didn't take any cred and would be between him and Quincy...
History is really the only solo project in which a majority of the songs he produced himself,
All the Drum programming, Keys, Guitar work....

But if you wan't an example of a keyboard lick
Check out stranger in moscows
smooth licks are laced with it

dirtyman2005

if anyone thinks mj cant play anything they must be some dumb shits without any brains!

he wrote dont stop till you get enough and billie jean and many others completely by himself and did all the instruments,

go have a listen to the demos,

the billie jean demo is enough to show what he can do,

FunkyBrotha

what a ridiculous thread, WHY THE FUCK DO PPL KEEP TALKING ABOUT QUINCY AS IF HE MADE THE MUSIC??? arg it really annoys me.

Quincy Jones Produced, ill say it again, PRODUCED, Off the Wall and Thriller. He did not write or compose any music on it, he had nothing to do with Billie Jean or any other of mjs songs apart from the fact he PRODUCED them.

Also, u cant pinpoint particular parts of particular songs where mj has played an instrument as no detail actually exists, but one thing is for sure, there is no way michael could have written composed performed arranged and produced the songs on the History cd without touching a musical instrument.
