Yes...the debut album was ok. "Sailing" and "Ride Like The Wind" are adult contemporary staples. He won several grammies for that album too. Those stations will always play those songs. There's something so liberating about "Sailing". "Sailing" was one of the first songs I wanted to learn when I first started playing guitar in guitar lab. Great piece. I bet Pat Metheny could do really do something with this piece on an acoustic.
Chris career went down when MTV hit in the 80's (when visual mattered more than the audio). He wasn't a "visual artist". Therefore, his career suffered.

He also won an Oscar 4 the song "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)" from the movie "Arthur" with Dudly Moore.
"Sailing" remains on of my favorite grooves...that intro, mmm, mmm, mmm. |

Angie Stone covered the song, and did it quite well, I might add. But I can't find it on any of her albums. It may be that she just did it for the tv show she was on (it was eMpTV). PFunkjazz said: Good gawd! this is the worst fuckin' crap to be recorded since god-damned Kenny G!
But not nearly as awful as Michael Bolton. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
