Nice picks.
No doubt Jimi's take was patterned after the slower and more soulful Tim Rose version. Most other bands at the time were playing the uptempo hyper arrangement (The Leaves, The Byrds, etc.) Tim was a regular at The Bitter End cafe (still standing btw) in The Village. The one that really kicked everyone's ass that was really listening at Monterey... http://www.youtube.com/wa...Hendrix%22 ...Not Wild Thing but Like A Rolling Stone. Shows what sharp rhythm guitar player Jimi was. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. Kool vids!!!
....the rhythm guitar, the acoustic, I love the moments like that, and his improv at the end of the Woodstock performance, those moments that show how multi-faceted he was.... btw, tA, regarding your photobucket stash, do you have a favorite pic or pics of Mr. Jimmy James? ... ... Wow. Good question. I like 'em all for different reasons. Just the fact that they exist. But if I had to choose, they'd be the non-performance, personal shots that show him in a happy or pensive mood. When I get a sec, i'll do a post on those. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn.
