I like Billy Joel's "Allentown". The piano sounds cool in that one. His older stuff is tolerable I guess, but I really don't care for anything post 'An Innocent Man'.

I will echo everyone's sentiment about the Grateful Dead. I will also add Steely Dan. I tried to like Steely Dan - my friends liked them, after all - but turns out I only liked one song of theirs. Turns out that single song was a rip-off of Silver's "Song for my Father", so they go on the list.
This is a good topic. One of the things that attracts me to a band / artist is the fact that they have a 'Big Catalogue' - like if they've been around so long, I really should be checking them out. "I got the devil in me, girl." - 'John the Baptist', Afghan Whigs

They have a lot of great ballads and club stompers they've released since then. I almost prefer their ninties and 2000 input more. i tried to get into them for a while...i bought a few of their albums in the '90s and later, and kinda decided i was over them after "nightlife".

You can't have listened properly or maybe you started in the wrong place. I don't like all his albums, but believe me he's a legend for a reason. Blood On The Tracks is probably the best introduction point. No one's life is complete without a bit of Bob.

Not one song I like. Not even "Touch Of Grey". Glad to see so many here feel the same way! Over the years, I've been amazed at all the Deadheads and the cult-like thing they've got going, meanwhile I'm totally ambivalent about them... However, I like what they're doing in their online store...opening their vault and making it available to the fans...I can think of someone I'd like to see do that! http://www.gdstore.com/ (click on Music) Handclapsfingasnapz said: as for the question at hand: bob dylan immediately comes to mind...i've never understood why folks give 'im so much props. i've never been able to warm up to 'im as it is.
Oh yes, him too! Cosign, I just cannot get into his music at all! [Edited 6/10/06 2:46am] "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

Why can't I not like his music? But is it his music? His voice/performances? A combination? How do you feel about "Just the Way You Are" done by Barry White? How about Billy doing "Back in the U.S.S.R."? "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

Michael Jackson, sometimes I find myself thinking I like Smooth Criminal, but then I here it again and the feeling goes away
Madonna, some of her songs get stuck in my head but I don't think I'd say I like them, Mariah Carey, don't even think I could name a song of hers almost any dance/pop act NIN Now I'm older than movies, Now I'm wiser than dreams, And I know who's there
