Ladytron Ladytron rocks...
A mix between Leftfield's best musical tracks and avantgarde vocal styles. This band has got me dancing. Moonbeam, remember Vive La Fete? This is even BETTER.

Ask Ladytron’s Danny Hunt if he sees his band as part of a retro-futurist, synthcore scene and you can bet on an emphatic reply: “We’re about songs. We’re not just churning out electronic club tunes,” he says. So that’s a “no” then.
Over the summer, the Liverpool boy-girl-boy-girl electropop quartet have become unwilling trendsetters. First hailed as fashion icons, thanks to their monochrome uniforms and impish haircuts (“Hair - what is it? It’s just hair. It’s not important!” says Danny, exasperated). And then, hailed as godfathers of the season’s 80s-inspired electroclash revival (spearheaded by pop pretenders Fischerspooner) that gripped London’s style-obsessed East End. ladytron 'light and magic' The fact is, Ladytron have been making their steel-cool, synth-driven, St Etienne-tinged, New-Order-meets-Kraftwerk space gems since 1998. And the comparison gets up Danny’s nose: “We’ve made two albums in the time the people we’re being compared to have made two tracks. We’re musically different. With us, there wasn’t a plan. Our sound was based on the gear we had – tons of analogue gear, half of it nicked - more than an attempt to replicate any particular sound,” he says. “We’ve avoided things that could’ve defined us,” he continues. “If we wanted to be opportunist, we could have put Seventeen [slick current single] out in May.” Instead, Ladytron spent the summer recording their second album, Light And Magic. Not in en vogue digital Mecca, Berlin, but in sunny, surreal LA. “In the north-west of England our songs fit in context, but in the sun they sound completely different. It was interesting to build on that,” he explains. Dark yet glistening, urgent yet lush, Light And Magic sounds like it was recorded in a parallel universe - but one off Alpha Centauri, not La La Land. It’s not synthcore, it’s not retro-futurist. And it’s not part of what Danny calls “a half-arsed movement. We hear what we do as pop music.” Alexia Loundras 21 November 02 From http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/...ve/A880003

Their looks did not came falling from the sky, obviously, nor does their music. Every artists is influenced by another.
But download BLUE JEANS and tell me what you think.

just Blue Jeans? I would get the whole Light & Magic album....then Witching Hour....then 604...in that order. I love Blue Jeans, but "Re:Agents" is the best track from that album, imo. looking for you in the woods tonight Switch FC SW-2874-2863-4789 (Rum&Coke)

I have all their albums--even the influences comp 'Softcore Jukebox' (worth buying alone for the cheesecake cover image of Mira and Helena). Mira looks absolutely beautiful now that her hair is longer. Check out their video for "Destroy Everything You Touch" on the 'Extended Play' album. They went all out for that one.

I find both of those women to be almost painfully sexy. I kinda feel like I need to apologize for being so stereotypically male, but their looks are what got me into this band. I like their albums well enough, but they don't thrill me to death or anything. Their style is a little outside my current listening habits, I suppose. If I was more in that mindset I'd probably love them to bits. I love looking at them though...

The more I see this name (Ladytron of course) the more I think I've heard them a long time ago. I'm pretty sure my sister is a fan actually. I have this memory of driving around San Francisco a few years back and listening to them. I'll have to ask her. My new fascination was brought on by one of my other buds on last.fm, actually... Ain't that spiffy.

It's eerie, it's 70's/early 80's influenced and you can mellow out on it or dance to it. Even though wacky at some of the songs. Props to you for being honest, though. I like your taste in women.

I like what they did to "Oops Oh My" They picked out some good songs for that one. That Tweet cover really came out of left field. I first heard it when they performed it live at a show here in NY a few years ago. Then it turned up on this album. Hilarious!

When I first got into them, I actually had no idea what they looked like (the photos on the first album were so fuzzy). Then I went to a show and they walked onstage and I was thinking, "who are these hot chicks?"
