Whatever. Open Letter to a Landlord is still awesome. I don't care what you say, BlondieFan. Does that somehow affect my ability to hear clearly? I'm just not a fan of the whole album.

After listening to the album again after some time, the following still worked for me...
Desperate People Open Letter Funny Vibe Broken Hearts ... Basically the middle of the album. tA Tribal Disorder http://www.soundclick.com...dID=182431 "Ya see, we're not interested in what you know...but what you are willing to learn. C'mon y'all."

Even Glamour Boys Funny Vibe makes a very valid statement. You know it's happened to us all at some point on some level. For me, off the Vivid album, the cut always has been "Broken Hearts." A rose among lilies, for sure.

decent album. too bad the album's artwork is trapped in that late eighties vybe.
personally, i think where things started go bad for LC is when they did a remake of 17 days.

I just got the CD today and it is EXCELLENT. I even like the "Glamor Boys" song. I actually remember that song from back in the day. This album holds up very well, considering its almost 20 yrs old....

I love the Vernon Reid solo records, but Living Colour I find a bit, eh. Time has not been too kind on that kind of music. [Edited 6/18/06 22:22pm]

It's not exactly new, they started out aleady in the mid-90s. Yes, they are very good at their best. The new record is more jazz-rock oriented, whilst the one that came out in 1996(!) was filled with samples and electronic hip-hop beats.

Great topic.
This album meant a lot to me at the time. I still dig Living Colour but Vivid is not my fave. That honour goes to Stain. I also really dig Collideoscope. Does anybody know if they have plans to release a new album? To put things in perspective, around the time Vivid came out, I was diggin' Living Colour, Fishbone, King's X, and 24-7 Spyz. Great time for music. Regardless, Vivid is a great and an important album. Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

I like "Time's Up" better. "Information Overload" is one of my favorite songs. "Vivid" had some good songs to though, but that "Time's Up" is the ish. U can cut off all my fins - But 2 your ways I will not bend
