Man what happened to David. He's a train wreck.

I saw the clip. MAN!!!!! It's a double-edged sword. We can all say that David Lee Roth hit rock bottom. BUT: at the end of the day, he has a RIGHT to perform those songs in one way or another. Bluegrass Van Halen is KINDA INTRIGUING. VEgas would suit him better, though. Get a KICK ASS BAND together (think Greg Howe on guitar, Gregg Bissonette on drums & Matt Bissonette on bass) and you got a start.I
SERIOUSLY DOUBT that Billy Sheehan & Steve Vai are available THIS TIME AROUND!!!

The sound mix on that clip is horrible.

This is what happens when you age and all you have a little attitude to get you through. To really last in the record business you need a hell of a lot of talent, and even THEN, you're still not guaranteed a thing.

God bless Dave, I kinda feel sorry for him, but this Tonight Show appearance is a lot better than the one where he was doing Vegas show tunes. God, was that a wreck!

DLR when folks used to laugh with him...

I used to have a drug problem, now I make enough money.

I used to jog but the ice cubes kept falling out of my glass.

Money can't buy you happiness, but it can buy you a yacht big enough to pull up right alongside it.

People ask me how far I've come. And I tell them twelve feet: from the audience to the stage.

I always wanted to be an outrage to public decency and a threat to women. And this is one of the few occupations where you're not only allowed that, buy you're encouraged.

Caller on Rockline -You put on such an incredible live show with Van Halen and solo and I was wondering because you are so visual how come you never have released a live video, and are you ever going to do so?
DLR - Well it's Like my Pants.. Its hard to squeeze it all in!

Hey, your girlfriend was partying with us backstage before the show, and she had a message for ya: mmfp mmf umf fmff mmm.

An ounce of image is worth a pound of performance.

It wouldn't be fair to compare my band of the future with something that belongs in the pasture.

You bet your ass this is real Jack Daniel's.. I don't see fuckin' Quiet Riot up here.

The Breakfast of Champions isn't cereal, it's the competition!

The perfect woman has an IQ of 150, wants to make love until 4 in the morning, then turns into a pizza!

The reason most rock critics love Elvis Costello is that most rock critics look like Elvis Costello.

...instead of at him. disbelief

It was funny if you accept it for what it was at the time.
In Van Halen's heyday (when the majority, if not all, of the quotes were made), he was the classic R&R clown.

However those days are long gone.

I was referring to the Leno appearance. I hadn't read the quotes. He was funny when Van Halen were at their peak. That's why I made sure to read every issue of Hit Parader and Circus when they interviewed him.

Gilda: She's deserving of her own thread....

"Jump" country-style is not even funny...it was nauseating. He's an old goat who used to be a rock star Californian attempting to sound country - what kind of wacked idea was that and why would anyone else want to even participate?

Stunning...and not in a good way! confused

Are there any blue grass fans that could tell us what they thought of it. With the band he had would he have been better off writing original songs, or should the whole thing have been a write off?
