What a difference 30 years makes. 1976 artists, instruments, varied radio play. 2006 producers, no instruments, same radio play everywhere.

The problem starts with Ms.D who outside of The Supremes, I just can't get into.
Next is the overplay of the song on radio and then having to play it myself in cover bands.

If there's a cure for this, I WANT IT!

Enough is enough. smile

The track is still hot though. Put on Monica's "The First Night" at least.

I like most of the songs on this chart. There are a few really cheesy hits ("Get Up and Boogie","Happy Days Theme") but the majority of those songs are top-notch.I remember the summer of '76 as if it were yesterday. That's when I truly got into music.

since we're talking about the music of 1976....

one of the biggest albums that year was Peter Frampton's live album Frampton Comes Alive, which is one of my favorites. He recently performed in my area at the exact same venue where that album was recorded. It was a "20th anniversary"-type show and I really wanted to go,but I was busy that night.Any fans of Peter Frampton here? Anybody see him in concert recently?

***"Get Up and Boogie" is dreadful...one of the worst disco songs ever.By comparison, their previous hit "Fly Robin Fly" is a masterpiece.

***I'm sure you know "It's Over" by Boz Scaggs. It was the first single from his landmark 'Silk Degrees' album...

why can't you just get it through your head
It's over,it's over now
Yes,you heard me clearly now I said
It's over,it's over now

Cool song, but of course,it soon got overshadowed by the next single "Lowdown",one of the biggest hits from that summer.
