Re-inventing albums

OK, so everyone has said for one album or another that it should have been released differently..... whether it should have been longer (adding b-sides), or shorter (dropping tracks), or with different sequencing, etc.... Some of us like to burn our own copies of albums with our preferred track listings.

So..... what are some of your favorite "alternate" versions of albums?

I'll start with one I just did that I REALLY like.

The Cure - "Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me". 18 songs... but with 6 stellar b-sides. Had they ALL been included, it would have been a double album even more glorious than it already was.

Check this out:

DISC ONE:

1. The Kiss
2. All I Want
3. If Only Tonight We Could Sleep
4. Catch
5. Breathe
6. How Beautiful You Are

7. A Japanese Dream
8. Hot Hot Hot!!
9. Icing Sugar
10. Snow In Summer
11. Why Can't I Be You?
12. Hey You!!

DISC TWO

1. Just Like Heaven
2. A Chain of Flowers
3. Torture
4. The Snakepit
5. One More Time
6. Perfect Girl

7. Like Cockatoos
8. Shiver and Shake
9. A Thousand Hours
10. To The Sky
11. Sugar Girl
12. Fight

Nirvana's "In Utero" should be released with the original Steve Albini mix.

THE CURE - MIXED UP (Revised)

1. Boys Don't Cry (Extended 12" Dance Version)
2. A Forest (Tree Mix)
3. Primary (Red Mix)
4. Let's Go To Bed (Milk Mix)
5. The Walk (Everything Mix)
6. The Caterpillar (Flicker Mix)
7. Inbetween Days (Shiver Mix)
8. Close To Me (Closer Mix)
9. Just Like Heaven (Dizzy Mix)
10. Pictures Of You (Extended Dub Mix)
11. Disintegration (Live Version)
12. Never Enough (Big Mix)

Basically this is just replacing the previously released extended versions with the non-album remixes from the b-sides along with the rerecorded "Boys Don't Cry" 12" (from '86) and the live version of "Disintegration" which I like 100 times more than the album version. The tracks are also in chronological order. I'm a stickler for that.

I used to listen to this one for awhile:

SIOUXSIE AND THE BANSHEES - THE RAPTURE (2.0)

1. Stargazer (Mark Saunders Mix)
2. Fall From Grace
3. Not Forgotten
4. Sick Child
5. Hang Me High
6. Black Sun
7. B-Side Ourselves
8. The Double Life
9. The Rapture
10. Love Out Me

I removed the John Cale-produced tracks which I thought sounded better as a separate EP and replaced them with the b-sides which to me were much superior. The remix of the single "Stargazer" also packs a little more punch than the album version.

2) Heaven Can Waith
3) The Way You Love Me
4) Butterflies
5) You Rock My World
6) Fall Again
7) Shout
8) Speechless
9) Break Of Dawn
10) Whatever Happens

...And for the 'Dangerous' album:

3) In The Closet
4) She Drives Me Wild
5) Remember The Time
6) Can't Let Her Get Away
7) Someone Put Your Hand Out
8) Black Or White

And for 'Bad' I would add Streetwalker.

I've actually made a Part 2 for this, but I can never find it. Gonna look again today.
