Dude is young and rich. He's no different than any of the other rock stars out there. He's living the plush life while he can. Young + rich almost always equals stupid decisions.
I found it ironically funny that he talked about driving fast but he has a song called "2 mph" in a car commercial. shrug go figure.

Van Hunt was jammin, though. That's why I watched the show.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. He was talking about how much down time there is on movie sets. He was so bored that he went to wal-mart and bought part lights so he could turn his trailor in to a club, bouncer and all.
Thank You San Alejo for getting rid of my enemies. :-0

Precisely.

Alot of these rappers remind me of bad ass kids in 7th grade who just want to jump on the bandwagon and instigate a fights in the playground for so called- street cred...

...I never could stand bad assed kids mad.

exactly they want to be mad at Oprah for not being down with the message they are sending. O has been clear she doesn't like the message or image and therefore won't give power to it. Ludacris is a jack ass instaed of taking what Oprah said and listening to the great advice she offered him...he goes out whinning like some little girl talking about Oprah don't like me

Killer Mike bitches about Oprah. There's a definitely an "Oprah bites" bandwagon. And Killer, pardon, Masarati Mike, is the fastest rapper to hop on board. Like Ludacris and Fif before him, Ice Cube criticized Oprah for not inviting hip-hop artists to her show. Apparently Oprah failed to invite Cube, who executive produced and starred in Barbershop, when her show did a feature on the movie. Interestingly, Eve, a rapper, was a guest alongside Cedric the Entertainer. The same thing happened for FX's "Black & White." Masarati Mike didn't get it. "Why is it that the producers of "Black and White" were invited to go on Oprah, but not Ice Cube? Name me someone more progressive than Oshea Jackson, who came up in a black neighborhood, had the courage to leave a highly successful group only to start his own major multi-media company?" Killer asked SOHH.com. "That's a feat. And then he's snubbed by a black broad because she doesn't like rappers. Ludacris who starred in this breakthrough movie goes on the show with the rest of the cast, only to be forced to defend his lyrics. Where were you when [Bill] Oreilly was criticizing him? Bill Oreilly is just gangsta rap for middle America. He's there to keep soccer moms scared of niggas."

"Oprah is full of shit," Mike added. "Nobody has the courage to say that Oprah is full of shit. She's not some beneficent person, she's just a person capable of doing incredible good, exposing people to reading, exposing people to Maya Angelou and Toni Morrison, or she can just be a dumb bitch shitting on rap, shitting on poor black people, it's possible to be both things at once."

There ya go killer!

Might I add that Luda loosing the Pepsi contract for being obscene was racist anyway. Then they turn around and gave the Pepsi deal to Ozzy Osbourne???!???? The Prince of darkness, the same person who bit the head off of a bat, sniffed ants, almost killed his wife, and he has children that curse just as bad as Ludacris right in front of their parents. When you are whiter it seems like it’s just a little bit righter.

Oprah’s show appeals to white middle and upper class American women so she has to play devils advocate and play it safe, but she is still black and I’m glad that the rappers are calling her out. Keep sending money to Africa Oprah that’s good, however you live in Chicago. The high schools on the south side of Chicago are poorly funded. For every dollar spent on a black school that’s three to five dollars spent on a white school. The school I attended has a 65% drop out rate. Charity starts at home. But maybe giving to a school on the south side of Chicago doesn’t get your name in the paper.

I hope they all get together to write a song about her rich ex coke head ass. Fuck her, people act like she is black Mother Mary or something.

Ludacris was on Conan last night. I decided to watch to see how interesting of a guest he'd be. What I learned about Ludacris from the interview:

1. he's an expert on strip clubs and thinks that Atlanta has the best ones
2. The most important trait when looking for a woman is that she has to have pretty feet. If she's super intelligent and have ugly feet, then he can't really "work" with that.
3. He likes to drive fast. He once drove over 200 mph on Germany's Autobahn. He drove over 100 mph in Atlanta and got a speeding ticket and was forced to go to driving school.
4. He writes his songs while driving with his knees. I guess that explains why they're so shitty smile
5. He likes to party

and this dude is worth throwing Oprah over the boat for? Wake Up

Fuck a Ludacris and 50 those cats aint down with no cause....Oprah is about empowering black people...Oprah is about black people....Wake up

Would Malcolm or Martin be down with 50? Of course not the guy is selling everything that those cats died for black men not to be. Luda, 50, and yes Ice Cube are sell outs. With Power comes responsibility

Bravo to Oprah not having this ignorant ass nut jobs on her show. Mos Def, Common ect,,,of course do not apply to this conversation. It should be painfully obvious to anyone who listens to music to the kinds of rap artists being discussed here and the big media conglomerates that empower them

BUT I'll bet you this, she's gonna put out a BS compilation of Hip-Hop tunes that SHE likes, and then you'll have a bunch of Suburban Soccer moms buying it and trying to get into Hip-Hop (30 years late). At that point the joke WILL be on Hip-Hop. lol

Actually, Oprah has stated publicly that she IS a fan of hip-hop music,

Oprah's real beef is the negative effect it has on children/teens that can't see for themselves that the thing rappers say or do is strictly for the money.

These kids can't separate fact from fiction in rap music anymore.

No it's because I am from the south side of Chicago and she is black and her show is based in Chicago and her "charity" does very little to help that area. Like I said the school I went to is poorly funded and many kids drop out. If education is the key then why are most black schools at such a disadvantage?

So you are right, black people are in serious trouble when other black people make it and not give back.

I'm tired of all this race shit on the org anyway. This was once the one place I could come and talk about MUSIC ( not social politics ). Now all this race and political crap keeps popping up.

co-sign. She didn't even come right out and say he was hypocritical. She asked if he felt like a hypocrit and what it was like to know that about yourself, but not be able to stop. Even if she did say that she was right. He was, but we're not perfect and we're all hypocrits at some point. He preached about what he wanted to be and what he and others should be, but he had trouble getting over his problem. It happens and no one is a bad person because of it.

What do you mean she hasn't given to me? Since when did I ask Oprah for anything? See that's what I mean about talking about these kind of subjects online, it's a waste of time. Not that race issues can ever even be discussed here w/o a serious bullshit factor [is a snip coming?] but as a person who deals with race in my life & the fact that I discuss various topics on this site, I really can't see how race as a whole could be avoided here. So check out this sermon by yours truly.

I think most people here are aware of the fact that those deemed "good" are capabale of doing bad, and those that are deemed "bad" are capable of doing good. I can watch a KKK member leave a hate rally and rescue a sick puppy off of the street. That is an example of someone "bad" doing something good. But as a black man, you must be a FOOL if you think I will now invite him to my dinner table all under the banner of "he just proved people can be complex". That's some Bullsh*t. Yes, with no question, people are complex but that no lessens one's negative actions or their results.

I care for all people but as a black man, I will admit I tend to be more concerned with issues that face the black community. Because of that I have a particular interest in things that I PERSONALLY FEEL directly affect my community. I PERSONALLY believe Hip Hop has had a profound impact on the black community and a lot of that impact has been negative. I PERSONALLY did not like the shift I noticed in the black community after the almost simultaneous explosion of NWA and 2 Live Crew. The black community had enough issues going on from crack to poverty, but the rise of those two groups and Gangsta Rap in general seemed to have had a impact on the community that we still have not recovered from. As a result, Hip Hop itself changed, fashion changed, dance changed, attitudes changed. Suddenly my cousins begin to tell me about drive-by's in Phoenix City Alabama and Savannah Georgia, and Toledo Ohio. I started to hear n*gga more than I had ever heard it in my life and from a wider range of people. In my little isolated world, t-shirts with the shoulders out suddenly became "wife beaters". I began to hear more profanity and women called out of their name in music, and videos became.....we know what videos became. In the general young black male population pants began to sag so low their underwear would clearly show. We started to see less pictures of Martin Luther King in homes and more of Tony Montana. In my lifetime as a black person, I have not witnessed anything else that SOOO effected our community on such a LARGE AND BROAD scale than Hip Hop. But the negative aspects of it were being glamorized which made the effect more potent imo.

I said all of that to say this....I'm sure Ice Cube, Killer Mike, etc., can be nice to their wives and kids and probably create incredible songs talking about the love of women. But the results of the irresponsibility of their actions on the black community, particularly when there seems to be no remorse or any signs that they now have a understanding of how their actions affected so many (like Chris Tucker and Dave Chappelle), still far outweigh them having an ability to make a film like "Are We There Yet". And this just may be the case with Oprah, like it is with me.

I am NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT saying Ice Cube/ Ludacris/50 Cent, etc. is the cause of all of black America's problems. But the irresponsibility of some of their actions and the visible results speak loudly. And loud enough for Oprah to still hear.

Oprah is not perfect, and I think her critics are just as guilty of expecting that out of her as her supporters, but she appears to try to stand for most things that are positive in the world, including respect for women and black people and I support her on it.

By the way, who is Killer Mike?

I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Whats there not to stand....the lady is all about helping folks. Never have understood why people rag on her so much. Its absurd really...just read this thread and number of people just rip her to shreds

Its remarkable to me that we have deteriorated this far as a culture when people say the things they do about Oprah when all she is about is helping people. Thats what she does.

My goodness if you can't stand Oprah who in the hell is there to like
Dance... Let me see you dance
