There's KORN in my poo! I just heard their remake of Cameo's Word Up. Man, you know a band is on it's way out when they need a remake to give them a hit. They added nothing to the song. The videa was just as heinus...superimposed faces on dogs walking about...SO CLEVER How this has anything to do with the song.....oh but the dogs end up in a strip club with scantily clad women holding their breasts.

Their dog days are numbered! i heard it when it came out ages ago and thought it was cool of them to do that song but i wasn't blown away. i'm not really a Korn fan but as far as rock goes they're still better than a lot of crappy bands out there.

you saw that as being desperate? I did, and I was a big fan at the time. It just felt too cheeky.

Although Cameo's version has grown too random to me , i think the original makes it bump because of that specific snare-beat they used , besides the fact that drumsound might sound kinda dated now ( imo ) .
As a devoted Cameo-fan , i can't bare to hear that track performed live anymore by Cameo or whoever . It has been played on every commercial media too & too much in my experience , and by the mainstream-audience they are often remembered just for that particular track . I remember the rockgroup GUN doing the Word Up re-run too in the mid-90's . It got quite some exposure on MTV then but it got me the same feeling as i have with KORN's version right now . http://www.allmusic.com/c...17:1737692 There are more examples of that kind . UK soul-songstress Shola Ama did a re-do of Randy Crawford's "You Might Need Somebody" , which added absolutely nothing special to it's original version . Just an excact copie . Even more toe-curling was the re-version of George Benson's "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love For You " , resung by Glenn Meideros . I hate 2 compare but really , it's a world of difference when you hear George sing it . But i guess because of Glenn his popularity back then , he scored high in the charts . . . . WHat's funny is that I didn't think that much of WOrd Up when it came out and actually preferred Candy, though I did think both were sorta naff compared to the music they did before. Now...I think Word Up has held up pretty good, it almost sounds new...like it was way ahead of it's time. I feel the opposite with Candy which sounds sorta dated. Christian Zombie Vampires
