MJ's "Thriller" Video Still #1 on iTunes UK + MJ's Top 20 Downloads Can you believe Michael Jackson's "Thriller" has remained in the Top 5 each week since iTunes UK introduced music videos to their store? This week the video climbs back up to #1. I also checked iTunes Canada and the video is #6. Couldn't be bothered to check the other countries but I'm sure it's a similar situation. Nice to see this classic still being appreciated so many years after and charting alongside recent songs by the Pussycat Dolls, Mary J. Blige, etc.
Anywhoo, moviing on... I thought I'd post what MJ's most popular downloads at iTunes UK are right now. As you can see, it's a pretty good mix of the 70's, 80's, 90's, while his one big hit of the 00's (so far) makes a decent showing in the Top 10. It's a pretty eclectic group of songs. Nice to see many songs from the HIStory album continuing to be appreciated in this territory. 1. Billie Jean 2. Thriller 3. Smooth Criminal 4. Man In The Mirror 5. Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough 6. You Rock My World 7. Beat It 8. You Are Not Alone 9. Blame It On The Boogie 10. Dirty Diana 11. The Way You Make Me Feel 12. Scream 13. Earth Song 14. Bad 15. Can You Feel It 16. They Don't Care About Us 17. Heal The World 18. Black Or White 19. ABC 20. P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)

Small pond?
Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the UK the world's 3rd largest record buying market? 1. USA 2. Japan 3. UK 4. Germany

Michael's success has been unstoppable in the UK, his sales have remained strong throughout this decade and at one point his entire catalogue of albums were in the top 50 albums. The UK is the worlds 2nd largest music market.
Since Michaels appearance on the Bashir documentary his sales have escalated boosted by price reductions on the special editions and the fact that the British public saw Michael for who he really was, and the awful characters he was exposed to.

Every newspaper and media programme in the country came out saying he was a nut, and potentially a pervert. What exactly did the public see? Confirmation!?!?! .

well i dunno where ur from , but here in the UK the trial, the Bashir documentary only strengthened Michaels popularity here!
What the newspapers say and what the public think are unfortunately two different things! I remember going shoppin the mornin after that documentary and i could hear everyone talking about it and one woman actually said "I cant believe what a nice man Michael Jackson is, that interviewer was horrible", that woman's comment stayed with me all this time because it restored my faith in human intelligence and the ability to see through media spin

He got very upset that everyone who called in was so positive about Michael and so disgusted by Bashir. Even Jonathan Ross said he liked MJ a lot more after the program and intensely disliked Bashir. However, Michael was very stupid to trust Bashir like that and whatever short term boost he got from it was nothing since it was that program that directly led to the court case.

Shit, the dude carves up! People say he's over, BS! He's probably the best (or one of the best) selling artists in 3 of the top 4 largest record buying markets. HOLY SHIT!!

Not sure if you've taken a recent visit to the site but all the latest music videos by Pink, Mary J. Blige, Pussycat Dolls, etc. are available. If anything, the competition has only gotten stronger. I wouldn't be surprised if "Thriller" was the #1 selling video on iTunes. Ever. It's been in the Top 5/Top 10 in numerous countries ever since it was released.
