superhero shout out!!

Spidey has always been a favorite, but he gets his love and so do Hulk and Batman.I just gotta shout out to some I hardly hear about:
Captain America and his main man,The Falcon(super brotha.he was cool and they didn't want to get in trouble so they gave him falcon powers instead of chicken powers)

Black Panther( a fave that disappeared-dude was African royalty)

Daredevil

Silver Surfer(deep,poetic,silver brotha)

Green Lantern(that green ring was the ish!)

Iron Man

Thor (my man!)

Conan the Barbarian(killed giants,giant snakes,and hooked up w/beautiful women)

Ice Man(ice bridges are underrated)

I used to even like namar, the sub-mariner and aquaman
"I'm a pig..so,magic elixir I swill"

Black Panther has a high profile at Marvel right now. BET's President of Entertainment, Reggie Hudlin has been writing the new series for over a year. Panther is getting married to X-Men's Storm this summer.

BTW, wrong forum.

my favorites were always team books like the ones above, though my favorite...the one that kicked my butt...will most likely always be:

That was a great book when John Byrne was still doing it. I like all the subtle hints that Northstar was gay--Aurora in total shock: "Is that Jean-Paul? With a WOMAN?!?" lol

Too bad most of them were killed a few months ago in Avengers.

it's the last really great thing i remember byrne doing. i didn't mind his "man of steel" stuff not long after he quit marvel, but after that? his art got sloppy and his writing got REALLY dumb. but the first 12 alpha flights are faboo. nod

He did a maxi-series later on for Marvel called 'The Lost Generation' which was about the Marvel heroes of the 50s before Spider-Man and the FF which I thought was pretty good. I also loved X-Men: The Hidden Years.

One current Marvel book I would like to recommend is Young Avengers:

There was lots of controversy initially because Hulk jr and Thor jr. (not their actual code names) are gay and dating each other. Written by Allan Heinberg ("The O.C.").

Superheroes were cool back in the day.....especially Batman during the "Lazarus Pit" era, if you know what I mean. But eversince the mid 80´s things went steadily downhill...I kinda gave up after the whole Ben Reilly/Peter Parker fiasco in Spiderman, and after the "new" Superman.

Does anybody know of any links where I could possibly get an overall update on superheroes and renew my lost love for superheroes ? Change is a good thing, but too many changes are bad.

His excellent run on Fantastic Four was around the same time. One story I'll always remember was when the FF teamed up with the Avengers and Dr. Strange to fight Galactus and they knocked him out cold. You will never see that again in the history of comics.

that was an awesome run, i agree...that whole trial of reed richards thing was cool, and sue's miscarriage was pretty risky for the time.
