Top Myspace Indie Artist: Cassie 
Seems like this young lady is about to blow up on the r&b scene. She has the most hits I have ever seen on a myspace page. Apparently, she caught the attention of Tommy Mottola and now he is her manager. Her album drops in August. Does anyone know if her music is being played on the radio? On the MTV You Heard It First clip on her blog, it says she sounds like Aaliyah and Amerie.

I've only heard "Miss ur Touch" A dj friend sent it to me. It's ok. sounds ashantii-ish. But if she's the same cassie that did the club mix "just friends" than I have heard it on the radio.

Well i have run by Cassie a few times here in NYC area, super nice girl, very sweet. But already with the label and puffy brought into the scene its the same ole same ole. I watched an interview with Tommy Mottola talking about her and signing her, calling her "unique" is Tommy kidding, maybe "unique" to the sony label but every label has their own "cassie", with likes of Ciara, Rihanna, Christina M and countless others its all about who can sign them first, set them up with the "In" producer of the day, make a slick video, then its a battle of who can look the best. So whatever talent these girls do have is long forgotten, the label isnt looking for that, that would be UNIQUE. That's exactly what I was thinking. I mean, what's unique about this chic? She's young, cute, sexy and whispers through her songs. Well, we already have several of those on the scene. She is bringing nothing new to the table. [Edited 6/4/06 19:56pm] | |

"Me and You" sounds like Stewie from Family Guy produced this on his Fisher Price piano. She sounds...well, she's gorgeous. I'll leave it at that. Those MySpace numbers are phenomenal! | |
