"Onstage at World Cafe Live Features Top Musical Talent; June 27th Sees DVD
Premiere of Bennett's Chuck Berry Biopic
http://www.delilahfilms.net

PHILADELPHIA, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Over two decades after producing
the revolutionary "rockumentary" The Compleat Beatles, Stephanie Bennett,
President of Delilah Films, Inc., continues to blaze new trails as a
pioneer of long-form music video. Bennett has entered the world of
high-definition television (HDTV) as co-executive producer of the new
concert series, Onstage at World Cafe Live, for the HDNet network, with DVD
releases to follow.
The new series, which Bennett co-produces with World Cafe Live owner
Hal Real and HDNet co-founder Mark Cuban, is recorded and broadcast in
1080i HD and Dolby 5.1 sound. "The sound and picture quality of HDTV have
the potential to put the audience onstage in a way never before possible,"
says Bennett.
Onstage at World Cafe Live features performances by Living Colour,
Rhett Miller, David Poe, Joshua Redman, Duncan Sheik, Shemekia Copeland,
Naked Eyes, Danielia Cotton, Meshell Ndegeocello and Rita Coolidge. The
series follows two acclaimed music specials Bennett produced for HDNet,
Marianne Faithfull in Concert and Joshua Redman in Concert, as well as two
HDTV specials for Pay-Per-View programmer iN DEMAND Network, Tribute to
Gram Parsons and Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire Live at the Greek.
On June 27th, Image Entertainment releases the landmark 1987 theatrical
concert film Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll as two-disc and four-disc DVDs, each
loaded with bonus features. Produced by Bennett and directed by Taylor
Hackford (Ray), the film captures a special 60th birthday concert for rock
pioneer Chuck Berry under the guidance of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith
Richards.
Bennett continued assembling all-star music tributes as creator and
executive producer of the 1980s cable TV series The Cinemax Sessions,
capturing performances from such musical legends as George Harrison, Ringo
Starr, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Cliff, Ziggy Marley, Carlos Santana and many,
many more. Perhaps the most celebrated of these programs was Roy Orbison: A
Black and White Night (1988), a filmed concert of Orbison performing with
Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Jackson Browne, kd Lang,
J.D. Souther, and Tom Waits.
Other Bennett-produced rockumentaries include: The Yardbirds (1992) and
Finally: Eric Burdon and The Animals (1991), charting two "British
Invasion"-era groups; Cream: Strange Brew (1991); The Beach Boys: Endless
Harmony (2000) and Girls Groups: The Story of a Sound (1983)."

"NOW AVAILABLE: A 2006 HIGH DEFINITION LIVE CONCERT SERIES

In 1991, David Dye introduced World Cafe—a blend of music, live performances and artist interviews—which airs on the popular Philadelphia-based public radio station, WXPN, and 200 National Public Radio affiliates around the US. Years later this show and its host would inspire the creation of World Cafe Live—an intimate Philadelphia venue housing a multi-level live performance space under the same roof as WXPN’s new broadcast studios. Now film producer Stephanie Bennett of Delilah Films has joined forces with Hal Real of World Cafe Live to bring this unique musical experience to viewers at home.

“On Stage at World Cafe Live” is a thirteen part concert series which has been recorded in high-definition by Mark Cuban’s HDNet, America’s fastest growing HD network. Production chief Evan Haiman has worked closely with Ms. Bennett and World Cafe Live to choose the following thirteen artists (in the order in which they will air on US television): Living Colour, Rhett Miller, David Poe, The Knack, Joshua Redman, Duncan Sheik, Shemekia Copeland, Steve Forbert, Marshall Crenshaw, Naked Eyes, Danielia Cotton, Meshell Ndegeocello and Rita Coolidge.

The series features established talent as well as exciting musical newcomers recorded in 1080i HD and mixed in stereo and 5.1 surround sound. Each of the thirteen programs features artists singing their classic songs and new recordings as well as in-depth interviews given by WXPN’s Michaela Majoun.

Stephanie Bennett’s credits include such classics as "The Compleat Beatles", “Hail! Hail! Rock ‘n’ Roll: The Chuck Berry Story", "Roy Orbison: Black and White Night" and "Endless Harmony: The Beach Boys Story", to name a few.

“On Stage at World Cafe Live” will begin its US broadcast on April 16, 2006. It is now available for international broadcast in all media.

....From there i went to HDnet. Based on the info there along with the info above that says this is a weekly series with each episode devoted to each artist...according to my complex calculations (uhhh 'complex calculations' = 'addition'), Meshells episode will be episode #112... and since episode #107 aires June 4th ...that means Meshells Episode #112 will probably premiere around July 9th.

so now the hunt is on...to find someone i know who is actually already 'HD compliant' who is willing to record it for me...but hopefully each episode will eventually be released on DVD at some point...music lovers keep your fingers crossed...
