Blue Bayou - Roy Orbison First of all, an amazing track that somehow only managed #29. This has such a great arrangement. The lyrics are in stark contrast to the happy-go-lucky music. I love how his (incredible) voice plays over the bouncy intro. Background vocals are also perfect. Linda Ronstadt covered this and it lost most of its impact. Roy was incredible, no doubt. | |

I'm obsessed at the moment with Roy Orbison's Only The Lonely it makes me wanna and feel good at the same time, he wrote and sang this song before a long serie of tragedies (loss of wife and children) as if it was a sort of premonition of his life.
