Ooh, I need those too! Got a transcript anywhere? Unfortunatley no. The Prince one I still have (it was Janet on the cover) so if I'm motivated enough this weekend, I could type it up myself. I will have to check to see if I still have The Cure issue.

How long ago was that out? Maybe I can find it in some Cure archives.

How long ago was that out? Maybe I can find it in some Cure archives. It may have been within the last year. You're gonna plotz when you hear this. I was going through the Blender issues I have here at work just to see if the Cure reviews were in one of those and I found instead every Joy Division/New Order CD reviewed! I'll type that up tomorrow and post it.

Anybody got an opinion on "Diamond Dogs"? Just curious 'cause I've been thinking about digging into Bowie's catalogue, too.

Are these the full reviews or just snippets of them? Cuz they're pretty short.

This article usually fits on 2 pages. They treat each album with a general blurb. Moonbeam's reviews have spoiled you!

"Diamond Dogs" is amazing. But it's probably the album that took me the longest to crack from the 70's other than "The Man Who Sold The World". It's a bit schizo and inconsistent in terms of style and sound - a very transitional record. You get some glam holdovers, a sleazefest magnum opus in "Sweet Thing", proto-disco with "1984", electronic creepiness during "We Are The Dead" and something that paves the way for the soul direction he'd go on his next couple albums with "Rock 'N Roll With Me". If you can assimilate that into a whole, than you'll love it.

Just an observation...some of these reviews are totally wack! Prince wasn't enjoying himself during "Lovesexy"? wtf?

Decent, but it's from the comedown period after Ziggy and before Young Americans. Probably better than: Alladinsane, which is more of a leftover Ziggy album, though still very good in spots. Hunky Dory (other than Changes) doesn't get too much recognition. It's my 2nd favorite after Ziggy. The Man Who Sold the World is interesting because it's hard rock, but I'm not sure his songwriting was fully developed at that time. If you want a laugh, check out the mid 60's stuff. I think the record I have is just called David Bowie. It's right out of Austin Powers. Nobody would ever have guessed that that singer would become one of the coolest rock stars ever. My Legacy

I usually see "Hunky Dory" and "Ziggy Stardust" listed as his 2 greatest albums. It gets plenty of recognition as far as I can tell.
