Just finished watching a YouTube clip of Whitney Houston, from an early 1990s Arsenio episode where she sang "All the Man that I need" and "We didn't Know" (duet with Stevie Wonder). At one point in that show, she did an a cappella hymn.
Whitney's been the butt of many a joke in recent years, but it really humbled me to see her when she was at her prime. She really was one of the most gifted singers of her time. I pray she'll clean up and make a comeback like never before!! Hang in there, sis. Stay up.

I can't post here what I am listening to now, because it's a pop record and many of you would recognize the act in question.

I was thinking about how JasonStar's "top 5 debut records" list included Big Willie Style.

Whitney is a true natural talent and it is sad to see her as she is today. She deserves kindness and compassion to heal, not to be the brunt of gossip and cruel jokes. I'm listening to Marian McPartland with guests Steely Dan (a 2002 recording of their appearance on her 'Piano Jazz' NPR radio program) "Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive."

wadduya think? Love it.. sounds great. got a lot of energy in this album... I thought that thom might go too deep into the electronic phase on this, but I was wrong.. it is very melodic, and the songs are very good quality. possibly a best of the year for me.
