I have recently re-discovered this album. Man what a classic. Every song is simply killer...not just the hits. Wasted Time, Try And Love Again, Last Resort. I can't get enough of this lately. Perfect summer music.

I used to HATE the Eagles when I was growing up...I thought they were so boring and MOR...Does the fact that I am no SO digging this album now mean I am getting old?? I think so

Either way KILLER album. Someone please back me up.

Its fashionable to mock Th e Eagles but they are a great band. And they have made classic music.

HC is their definitive statement imho.

One thing of note: the actual song HC, was supposed to be presented as an overt reggae song. When I heard Don speak on this I then began to hear the reagge influnece in it with the guitar ever since. It's become a different song to me now lol. Or sound, that is.

Like one of those magic eye pictures except with sound.

So another question on the title song...when he sings "They stab it with their steely knives, they just can't kill the beast" I heard that is a reference to Steely Dan...The Eagles and SD shared a friendly rivalry and referenced each other in songs. Anyone know if thats true?

I've grown to love The Eagles in recent months. But still, I cannot listen to this song ever again. I've heard it all too much, and I never liked it in the first place.

Maybe. It certainly means your tastes have shifted. But this was ALWAYS a great album, even when it came out and I was in my last years of High School. "Wasted Time" was like my anthem, very deep song and it captured where I was at in life at the time (maybe even now).

You're not alone here: This has always been a favorite album of mine.

One thing also about the title track...just like Stairway to Heaven...I SHOULD be sick of these songs since I have probably heard both of them more than 1000 times...but the thing is I still love them. Whether its on my iPod or the radio, or pulling out the CD...I almost always either turn the volume up or at least sing along ( a few air guitar strums are required as well)

I love the Eagles. Saw them in concert many years ago when I was just a kid. My sister took me. They were awesome and I was thoroughly impressed by their performance and I've been hooked ever since. I also enjoy their solo work too. HC is a classic with each song standing on it's own. That's rare these days.
