A song about suicide "inspires" a teen to commit suicide, can it be "good music"?, A song addressing young black females as "bitches" can it be "good music"? A song glamourizing a criminal life, can it be "good music"? No don't get me wrong, all songs should not need to have a moral valve, otherwise there would be only spiritual songs. I don't believe Hendrix's song "Hey Joe" ever caused anyone to kill his wife. I myself have written "poor songs" that others felt were good, but that doesn't change the fact that they were "poor" songs. I consider MJ to be a extremely talented artist but his music is still mainstream. Not all mainstream music is "poor" music, I never said that. I simply questioned the musical knowledge of many of the orgers on this site base on their limited music artist topics.

Hendrix didn't write "Hey Joe". neutral

nah, it's not hate.

a cat doesn't hate a sofa just because it sharpens its claws on it.

The cat is not trying to sharpen it's claws on a sofa or anything else it's simply using it's claws to stretch. See I too can be anal(did I spell that right?)

So If you took away the lyrics of those songs, Would it still be music. Without the bitches and ho's, is it still good? Most the time, no, cookie cutter beats, generic, stale Music. But there are good artists out there regardless of what they speak about, I think it's about how the music makes you feel. I have to say I don't share some of prince's views on things, old or new, but that means nothing when the music is good. Shit he sings a song about incest, and I like the song but that don't mean I wanna bone My sister. Crike!!!!!

TO YOU. taste is subjective. if there's some artist or style of music that you're just DYING to talk about because your life isn't complete, start a thread about it and people will discuss it with you. (although with your pompous attitude, i doubt you'll get many takers just because they won't want to have to discuss it with YOU).
