I'm stereotyped as a listener to only brooding, obscure international acts... with occassional dashes of Prince, Joni and NPR. redface Some chick once told me I listen to "funeral music." mad

I am tall, blonde hair, blue eyes...and I, too, look younger than my age.

I am successful in the corporate world, and because of that and my appearance I am frequently typecast and put into the category of priviledged, judgemental Anglo-Saxon Republican who is shallow and conservative. And, no, I do not play golf!!!

I would imagine people believing my record collection would consist of Kenny G, The Carpenters, and Engelbert Humperdinck's Greatest Hits.

WRONG!

I am well rounded musically and I am musically current. I have everything from rap, to reggae, to world music, to jazz, to classical...ad infinitum....

Just goes to show that "you can't judge a book by its cover".... shrug

I believe it unfair of ANYONE to typecast or stereotype....

Well that's not really possible with me anymore because i can listen to a song that is very commercial, then change to something that is mostly noise and industrial sounds, then put on something really heavy. Thats mostly the way i listen to music now, songs. I rarely listen to a full album anymore, so for someone to stereotype me would be dumb!

....a black guy in disguise cuz I'm a hip-hop head (old school mostly, but I loosely follow the new shit)....

....or very closeted cuz I listen to Prince, Incognito, BNH, MeShell....so on and so forth....

*waving to Chico and tA* wave hug

because I look the way I do (short and "cute") people expect me to like pop music and kinda softer styles of music... it's usually the same look I get when I tell them my fave since the age of 5 has been Kiss and that I love to rock out the most nod lol but I'm with you Chico my music taste is so eclectic I love a very wide variety from Frank Sinatra and some classical and country all the way through to bands like Pantera and of course my boys Kiss headbang

it's all good wink
