American Idol WTF??? I guess they really want an emmy because I hvae NEVER seen an AI finale like this!
Al Jarreau Live Meatloaf Mary J Blige Toni Braxton Dionne Warwick Brokenote Cowboys PRINCE! Uh, I'm guessing artists have realized the amount of viewers that watch this show and want that exposure. I remember when AI first started, artists like Justin Timberlake and Alicia Keys were dissing it. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw them on a finale show in the future This was a really exciting show tonight! [Edited 5/25/06 19:28pm]

That's sad. I find it weird we have almost 300 million (not sure how many are under 18) citizens and so little actually vote for the leader of their country

Well you do have to factor in how many kids fourteen and older voted, it's still crazy to hear that amount. Now ow many will actually buy the album from the winner, runner up and the others voted off, I'm guessing the winner will be platinum at least. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I doubt that figure is 63 million PEOPLE. It's probably 63m votes, including ones from multiple voters.

Big Brother is big in the U.S. Really? Our tabloids keep big brother in the headlines pretty much every day.

I'm not saying we have enough people exercising their right to vote in elections, but we do have far too many people concerned with who wins the pageant!

I doubt that figure is 63 million PEOPLE. It's probably 63m votes, including ones from multiple voters. Especially from voters from the hometowns of the contestants.

Yes but that probably breaks down to about 2-5 million actual voters making multiple entries.

I was just getting ready to say that, and I'm actually surprised that folks didn't catch on right away. Kids can vote on AI, but not in government elections, people! I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Can we be clear on this one and for all....It's not 63 million people. 63 million people don't even watch the show on a regular bais and the final only got under 40 million....It's 63 million votes. Some people vote like 400+ times! So once and for all, it's not 63 million people! And I'm not crabbing at you....I'm crabbing at the media who reports this all the time and truly knows better!
