wave TOTALLY fun meeting you guys! Davideye is cool too and was wearing a dozen Madonna buttons on his t-shirt, so I bought five little buttons for $15. giggle Sassy was sitting an entire 4 seats away and he's an awesome dancer! thumbs up!

Thoughts...

star EQUESTRIAN - I love this whole scene, especially her attitude. It all gets kind of spooky.

star Like A Virgin and Lucky Star -- I'm not a fan of her really early work so was planning on grudgingly sitting through ...but those were some of my very favorite MOMENTS! biggrin

The horse accident/x-ray footage was an incredible juxtaposition with Like a Virgin, though I was hoping she's work that pole a bit more. wink Really chaotic and powerful stuff. Forget Madonna, gimme that footage!!!!

Lucky Star was exuberant and I love the lighted cape.

star THE CRUCIFIX - I agree, this was an incredibly moving piece. The idea seems so hoaky, but the pacing and sensitivity of it made me actually tear up, especially when she ends in a full prostration on the floor.

I also like how she walked around the cross afterward, gently touching it.

star SORRY and MUSIC - The crowd seemed especially alive and unified during these very strong performances!

star MADONNA TRAVOLTA - omg, I could not get enough of her strutting down the runway in that white suit! The whole MUSIC number was a blast...the rollerskates!

star SORRY REMIX - That DON'T TALK remix was HOT and way better than the goofy montage she did during Re-invention while singing IMAGINE. I was pleasantly surprised that her "statement" moments came off so well this time.

star I liked her banter -- giving the audience the finger, talking about "the front row bitches" giggle, and then at the end when she said "I love you, I love you" -- i was like eek

star I loved the sexual moments but wanted her to get even racier. It felt like a bit too much of an act to me, I wanted her to push it!

Awesome show! woot!

Highlights of this show:

"Future Lovers/I Feel Love"---For this opening number,Madonna makes a very stylish entrance. The song segues perfectly into "I Feel Love".A truly hypnotic opening!

I haven't paid enough attention to the tour news - Donna's I Feel Love?

songs...that i hope to hear tonight.

most of confessions (if not all)
erotica
angel
oh father
dress you up
perhaps a disco cover (donna summer's i feel love would be very appropriate!)

other than that stuff i have no real expectations...other than being totally floored by what better truly be a disco inferno!

i can't believe i got half my wishlist! lol bitch did 10 of the 12 confessions songs, erotica, and a couple disco covers including i feel love! i'm glad i went with no real expectations (though i was hoping for a full 2 hour disco party) because i left very satisfied.

prince, take a memo!

The 'front row bitch' speaks!
Posted: 02 June 2006
Here is the story behind Madonna's distracting 'front row bitches' at the show in San Jose - madonnalicious visitor Dave reveals all:

The reason why Madonna mentioned the 'front row bitches' in her San Jose concert? See the photograph below. I custom-made this shirt after I won the MTV contest so that Madonna would notice me. I'd seen Madonna 11 times before, in 8 different North American venues, but NEVER this close! It was a dream come true. She looked at me a LOT, and smiled at me and my shirt several times. She aimed the microphone at me during 'Hung Up' and sang to me directly (eye contact, smiles) many times including 'Get Together,' 'Jump,' 'La Isla Bonita,' 'I Love New York,' and 'Drowned World,' among others.
The shirt was a magnet, but I'm also really big and tall so all my jumping and flailing really stood out! I was the luckiest guy in the venue that night! Every time she referred to the front row bitch(es) I turned around to the folks in the rows behind me and they cheered! After the show, several people came up to me and congratulated me for getting so much personal attention from Madonna. The experience was absolutely amazing!
