SPOILER ALERT: Some observations about the show....

***At one point,Madonna said "I played a few shows in Vegas over the weekend, and the crowds were so dead. But you guys are da shit!" lol

***the "rock segment" of the show is a blast."I Love New York" and "Ray Of Light" were two of the highlights.

***"Jump" featured alot of interesting parkour moves. For those who don't know, parkour is that complex dancing where they jump over buildings....it's very fast-paced and dangerous. At one point, two of the dancers went into the crowd, doing these moves.

***Months ago,I was against the idea of adding "Music" to the setlist.I felt that this song was already performed on the last two tours and it was getting kinda tired. But WOW....the new arrangement is excellent! The song is blended with the 1977 disco classic "Disco Inferno" and I was impressed.Another highlight of the show.

***During "Let It Will Be",Maddy was dancing like a drunk woman, lol.

***Without question, this show features the most talented group of dancers that Maddy has ever worked with. The choreography is impressive throughout the whole show, especially "Ray Of Light" and "Erotica".

***I noticed that,on this tour,Maddy is more talkative than ever.It was almost like a return to the Girlie Show days.

***I was really moved by the "Live To Tell" performance. It was very dramatic.

So glad you enjoyed yourself. From what i've see of Live To Tell I got shivers down my spine, and that was on a fucking youtube link. I can't wait to see it live.

yay! finally, the day is here! i'm going to the vadge show tonight in san jose! i have managed to stay away from setlists and spoilers (aside from a few photos and that access hollywood bit). i know a few of the songs (like a virgin, future lovers, la isla bonita) but most of them are a secret to me. with that, i'd like to post my "preferred" set of songs, those that i hope to hear tonight.

most of confessions (if not all)
erotica
angel
oh father
dress you up
perhaps a disco cover (donna summer's i feel love would be very appropriate!)

other than that stuff i have no real expectations...other than being totally floored by what better truly be a disco inferno!

ok, i'm not coming back to this thread to read any replies to this post because i'm paranoid someone will give something away in the response.

I love how asg wants to give us all lessons on how terrible Madonna is, but he/she is scanning craigslist for Madonna tickets. Now that's dedication! lol

and not realizing that she all ready got the money from the sale of a full price ticket... it's the people who bought the ticket that are eating the markdown.

You know what? Asg is incorrect. I just checked craigslist and most tickets are still going for face value or a bit less, which is the same price they've been going for weeks. Tickets in the same section I'm sitting in are going $50 more than what I paid for a couple weeks ago. Sure, there are some great deals to be had at half price today, but considering the show is less than 10 hours away, I don't see any deflation whatsoever.

That's true, but tickets are higher today than when I bought them two weeks ago. The expensive seats were selling for $250 a few weeks ago, but when her tour opened most tix moved back up to face value. I still don't see many half priced tickets today, they're still being offered at face.

I saw 2 tickets for 350 whcih were more then 350 each plus charges

I have nothing agianst buying cheaper tickets on craiglist.

Most cases you would get much better deals i did it for the musicology too

What I did was I lowballed people who were selling tickets at face. I had a set amount I wanted to spend and emailed sellers with my offer (which was quite low). Two responded and one almost matched my offer, so I bit. The scary part was doing paypal and having them fedex the tickets, with no guarantee. But it all worked out.

It was nice! Alot of fun.Sassy is a great guy.I joked with him, saying "So this is the guy who thinks Madonna is the devil" lol Heartbeatocean is cool! She was there with her ex-husband and we hung out in front of the arena for awhile. Then, when we all got to our seats,we noticed that we were all in the same area.Sassy sat in the row directly in front of HBO,and I sat in the next section from them. It's weird the way we all wound up in the same area.

Sassy is awesome. I already miss his presence in the Midwest.

I'm trying to figure out how I'm gonna see this tour.

I can't wait to read Sassy's review. When I met him,I told him "You're gonna love this show!" He didn't know anything about the setlist,so I think he was surprised.

I really hope you can go,but if not, don't worry. There's a rumor that the show will be televised on either HBO or NBC,which of course, means it will also make it's way to DVD pray

Highlights of this show:

"Future Lovers/I Feel Love"---For this opening number,Madonna makes a very stylish entrance. The song segues perfectly into "I Feel Love".A truly hypnotic opening!

"Jump"---incredible parkour dance moves!

"Live To Tell"---forget the controversy surrounding the cross, this is an EXCELLENT performance of this song.I was really moved.

"Sorry" (remix/interlude)---I love this remix!!!! The footage of George W.Bush is hilarious lol

"I Love New York"and "Ray Of Light"---these songs are performed back-to-back,with Maddy playing guitar. One of the most energetic parts of the show.

"Music Inferno"---a combination of the disco classic "Disco Inferno" mixed with "Music".Everybody was on their feet for this one!

"Erotica"---cool,relaxed version of this song, and the choreography was excellent.

The not-so-great moments of the show:

"Isaac"---I think this song went on for too long. And wassup with that annoying horn(?) that the male vocalist was playing?

"Paradise (Not For Me)"---love the song, but I don't think it works on this tour.Maddy plays guitar and is joined by the same guy who sings with her on "Isaac".It wasn't a bad performance, but it felt kinda out of place.

I think this show is most exciting when it focuses exclusively on the disco theme. Thus, the first segment and the final segment are the most enjoyable.

some other little tidbits about this show...

***Before and after the show,my friend insisted on hanging out in the back of the arena,by the backstage entrance. He works for a local TV news show, and wants to interview some of Maddy's dancers. We met several of the dancers and they signed his tourbook.

***I was on a local radio station! It's called "Energy 92.3" or something like that.I think it's a dance music station? They had a booth set up in front of the arena and in order to win a prize pack, you had to answer some questions. My friend told the DJ "Dave is a Madonna expert,he knows everything about her,you gotta put him on the air"....lol...I was so embarassed, but I did it.They asked me to name all the old songs that are performed on this tour. That was easy lol

***interestingly, during Tuesday night's show,Madonna sang the line "Just go to Texas, isn't that where they golf" during "I Love New York".But on Wednesday night, she changed it to "Just go to Texas, and suck George Bush's dick!".lol

***On Wednesday night's show, some of the gold mylar balloons dropped from the ceiling early in the show. These are the balloons that are supposed to drop during the "Hung Up" finale.

hmmm I'm trying to figure out how this tour stacks up against the others.I think Re-Invention was superior. That tour is hard for her to top,but this new tour comes close.
