My Favorite U2 song is "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me" OK..I think U2 overall is kind of over-rated and always liked INXS TOOOOONS more. However, I love the song, "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me." Are there any other U2 songs or albums that sound like this one? Or was it just a one track glory? Anyone ever hear it live? Hows it sound?

Actually, now that I think about it - that's my favourite U2 song too. I don't think they have too many songs in the same vein, the closest being probably the vibe on Zooropa. I don't know.

They don't have that much more with the bombastic string sound of that song, but if you're interested in U2 not playing it safe and not only recording stuff in their well-established 80's based sound, then the albums "Achtung Baby", "Zooropa" and "Pop" could be interesting to you.

I like that song alot, although the live versions were always sub-par.

You need to get Achtung Baby. That's the closest to the sound you like. Also, Desire should be right up your alley.

Absolutely LOVE this song, strings are awesome and guitar on chorus is nice. Was it Neneh Cherry who produced?

Nellee Hooper produced it. HMTMKMKM is one of my absolute favorite U2 songs ever! It's a Zooropa outtake, and if the song had been included on the album, it probably would've made Zooropa my favorite U2 CD ever. Anyway, the string sound probably has the most in common with All I Want Is You, although there are pretty much NO similarities between the songs otherwise. I actually really dig the live versions from Popmart; that intro where Bono turns back into MacPhisto for the last time...Fuck this!! I'm the first mammal to wear pants.

I have a friend who hates U2 with a firey passion, but she thinks this song is absolutely awesome. I have to agree with her on the latter, it's one of their best. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~
