This is how much the dopes on AI know about music "They just came to me. It wasn't like it was my choice. They just said, Okay, you'll be singing with so-and-so...I didn't even know who he was. But now I do. He was like really big in the '70s, right?" - Katherine McPhee, on performing with Meat Loaf

"Like, oh my God! Like, who are these OLD people performing tonight? Like, I told my mom who was on the show tonight and she actually knew who these people were! Can you freaking believe it? She like, pulled out this huge black round thing and said that was the guy's album. I don't know what it was, it was like a big black CD or something! Like, oh my God!" Kat may be a musical idiot but I've really become an Elliot supporter of late and I do know that he is up on his classic R&B, being criticized for picking obscure songs from legends. As a matter of fact, the week he was booted he insisted on singing a song by Donnie(sp) Hathaway that people weren't familiar with. Perish the thought!

oh yeah, because Meat Loaf is an essential part of every 21 year old's cd collection in 2006.

oh yeah, because Meat Loaf is an essential part of every 21 year old's cd collection in 2006. He probably isn't, but if you want to start a career in the music business, you should at least know who he is (or get yourself a job in a fucking supermarket or at McDonald's).

this is what she said when asked if she knew who he was
I found out a few weeks before the finale. I knew the name but didn't know what he looked like or anything. It was an interesting experience. He's definitely the theatrical rocker dude. I've had a lot of theatrical experience in my life because I went to school for musical theater, but he was on a whole different level. He warned me he goes full-out every time, and when we were rehearsing he was all in my face.

oh yeah, because Meat Loaf is an essential part of every 21 year old's cd collection in 2006. I know. These kids aren't aware of anyone in the music industry. Even Stevie Wonder. They were all like, "I know who he is, but I'm not familiar with all his music." That idiot Chris said, "I knew the Red Hot Chili Pepper's version of Higher Ground, but his (Stevie's) is good, too!"

Like, who the hell are these people that these OLD people keep talking about. Like, my dad keeps talking about someone named Jimi Hendrix. I can't think of anything she sings but I heard she used to be in a group with Patti LaBelle.
My dad also bought this CD last weekend and there were about 10 guys in pirate outfits on it. They had remade "Fantastic Vogage". Like, why can't these people make their OWN music? Coolio should sue the hell out of them. Like, my mom keeps talking about the disco era. Like, I think it was during the 60s when we were at war with Canada. Ronald Reagan was the president back then. Like, OH MY GOD!!! Like, there's that weirdo that's called Prince. Like, he had this movie called Purple Rain that was like a MAJOR hit in 1979. Yeah, the single "Super Freak" was HUGE that year. He co-wrote it with MC Hammer you know. Andy is a four letter word.
