the guitar solo in the middle is absolutely amazing, its the only reason i listen to the entire song as the actual song itself is just ok to me, not bad but not amazing either. the guitar solo is EVERYTHING

I don't mind doing Mustang Sally, since I haven't been doing it for the last 20 years. It's new to me.

I don't know what to think though. A lot of these songs are kind of cliche to me (Radar Love, Pride & Joy, Brick House), but like I said, the people we play for are still screaming "Skynrd!" so maybe everybody wants kung fu fighting, too.

I feel for you as far as Sweet Home Alabama goes.
Many moons ago when I played in cover band in the south, we did an s-load of frat parties at some of the larger southern colleges.
That tune had to be played at least 3 times a night.

If my life depended on it, I could probably play the guitar parts (all of 'em) now strictly from muscle memory.
And don't even mention Free Bird. disbelief

Now The Allman Brothers is a different story.

We sometimes have to repeat a song, too. There's something really weird to me about doing a song twice in a night.

At our last show, though, a guy put a five in the tip jar and asked if we knew any Stevie Ray Vaughn. We'd already played Pride & Joy, but what are you gonna do when he's just increased your tips by 10%?

I never wanted to do My Sharona, but I must admit I love playing the guitar solo!

You need to hear Chipmunks Go Around The World (I forget the exact title)

"We wanted to fight the bull
Boy we were sure crazy
Instead of fighting we're drinking milk
Sure glad the bull's name was Daisy"

that'll change your mind

Christmas With The Chipmunks...

...was cool.

All right you Chipmunks! Ready to sing your song?
-I'll say we are!
-Yeah!
-Let's sing it now!
Okay, Simon?
-Okay!
Okay, Theodore?
-Okay!
Okay, Alvin? Alvin? ALVIN!
-OKAY!!!

Christmas, Christmas time is near
Time for toys and time for cheer
We've been good, but we can't last
Hurry Christmas, hurry fast
Want a plane that loops the loop
Me, I want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late
.

Okay fellas get ready.
That was very good, Simon.
-Naturally.
Very good Theodore.
-Ahhh.
Ah, Alvin, you were a little flat, watch it.
Ah, Alvin. Alvin. ALVIN!
-OKAY.

Want a plane that loops the loop
I still want a hula hoop
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late.
We can hardly stand the wait
Please Christmas, don't be late
.

Very good, boys
-Lets sing it again! Yeah, lets sing it again!
No, That's enough, lets not overdo it
-What do you mean overdo it?
-We want to sing it again!
Now wait a minute, boys
-Why can't we sing it again?
-[chipmunk chatter]
Alvin, cut that out..Theodore, just a minute.
Simon will you cut that out? Boys...

headbang this has always been one of my favorites.

trivia: this song inspired MJ to write "Beat It".He wanted to come up with a loud rock song that had the same power as "My Sharona".

Actually, Quincy Jones reckons it was his idea. He reckons he asked Michael to write a "black My Sharona" (in his own words) so instead of rock/pop it's more like rock/r&b. The result was "Beat It". But apparently it was he last song Michael actually showed Quincy because he was so self-concious about it.

Who can blame him for being self-concious when offering a song for consideration after Q told him that perhaps Billie Jean should be removed from the album. He tried to talk MJ into dropping Smooth Crim from Bad, too.

And folk say MJ would be nowhere without Q. lol
